If so can the pokemon flip to wake up if it is paralyzed if not. Can a sleep pokemon become paralyzed

Yoiu can't be asleep and paralyzed at the same time. Confusion, Asleep, and Paralysis overide each other. The old condition is replaced with the new one.~Mark
the way sleep/confusion/paralysis works is you turn the card to show the status.
asLeep, you turn the card to the left
paRalyze you turn the card to the right
confUsion you turn the card upside down.
The newest status takes over any older ones, so if you were asleep and then become confused, you would be confused.
