Hello, Pokebeach. Battle Compressor from XY-Phantom Forces had made a big impact for the past 2 years in Standard Format. Because this card will be rotated next year or let's say this September 1, many players will be affected including myself who is a fan of that card. What are the decks will be affected on this?
- Vespiquen Decks - We know that this Beehive Pokemon made it's " Bee Revenge" damage majestic because of Battle Compressor. Without it, this deck will rely on Ultra Balls and Sycamore in order for the "Bee Revenge" to take higher damage.
- Maxie/Archie Decks- This deck made it's huge impact to the game, especially for the Fighting and Water Pokemon with the usable abilities or attacks like Gallade, Omastar and Garchomp. What this thing do with Battle Compressor is to discard Maxie's Hidden Ball Trick/ Archie's Ace in the Hole and those Pokemon into the discard pile, use the VS Seeker to retrieve Maxie/Archie, use them if it is the only card in your hand, and place the Fighting/Water Pokemon to the bench from the discard pile without going to evolutions. Without the Battle Compressor, Maxie and Archie form Primal Clash will be less playable.
- Energy Accel - Do you run Carbink BREAK in your Fighting Decks? Battle Compressor is the perfect solution for the energy accels like Car-BREAK to function. Without it, players will rely again on Ultra Balls and Sycamores.
- Normal Decks - some normal decks run 1 copy of that compressor to discard cards that doesn't want to need in play.
