If you use (Triumphant) Altaria's Midnight Eyes, retreat it, and send out (Platinum) Altaria, and the defending Pokemon is asleep, does Perish Song work? (I know triumphant altaria is useless, but I thought there could be an interesting hit and run strategy with is, making an altaria you don't need take the hits... It probably won't work out, but I want to know anyway.

Since Perish Song involves a check of game state, I would say that the answer is yes, because the Defending Pokemon was still affected by an attack called "Midnight Eyes", and that is the condition that you need.
