A Drizzle-less Rain Team?

I've been thinking about possibly making a Rain team that doesn't rely on Politoed to set up rain. Without Drizzle, I have access to powerful sweepers like Kingdra, Kabutops and Ludicolo, since they can use Swift Swim now.

Through using Prankster Pokemon, notably Whimsicott, Tornadus and Thundurus, it is possible to set up Rain before you get Taunted, giving you an advantage.

So yeah, does anyone think a Rain team without Polited has a chance in this competitive meta?
 
It's definitely possible, but probably better in the lower tiers, where TTar doesn't have a monopoly on the weather game. Of course, in the lower tiers, while you do get access to Swift Swimmers, you lose out on some of rain's best players, most notably Thundurus and Ferrothorn. But I encourage you to give it a try (in both OU and UU/RU), because it is at the very least interesting.
 
Uxie is actually a great Rain Dancer.

Uxie has great defenses, so it can stay in the battle for decent amount of time. If the going gets rough though, get out of there with U-Turn or Memento. After setting up Rain Dance and Stealth Rock, hit the enemy a bit with Psychic. It also prevents Uxie from becoming Taunt bait.
 
Your best bet is in lower tiers. You want a nice solid dancer like Uxie or Lati@s, especially in uper tiers where auto weather will murder you if your weather-maker cant take a hit.
