1) Double Rainbow energy says it can only be attached to an evolved pokemon (Excluding Pokemon-Ex). But what happens let's say if I attach it to Shelgon, and then evolve it to Salamence Ex. Does the energy still count?

2) I'm asking this for a friend. He has a meditite as his active and another Meditite on his bench. If he uses Detect and it's successful, does that stop damage done to his benched meditite also?

Q1) The DOuble Rainbow Energy is now discarded!

Q2)No it only applies to the meditite that used Detect!

1) It gets discared. It says it can't be attached to an ex. This doens't mean it can be attached to something and then become an ex and it stays.
2) Nope, thats self-referencing.
 
^it is up to 3 evolved pokemon because they may not have 3 evolved pokemon in play!
 
That's not exactly correct.

Dodrio says to choose 3. So you MUST choose 3. If they have less than 3, then you must choose all of them. If they have more than three, you must pick from the ones they have.

But you MUST choose until you get 3.

Since the words "up to" are not present, you are not allowed to only select 1 or 2, even if they have less than 3 Benched Pokemon.
