So this is what they mean by "going back to basics."

Nice one, Gamefreak.

In case it's not obvious, the set is named after Victini's red/orange coloration.

I'm so slow on that one, I figured it out after DNA's post. Somehow I thought Red Version could actually be done. What a fail. :p

That's pretty funny though. I guess we might be seeing these in our 2nd set I suppose. I'm not 100% sure though, they could end up in the 3rd set from what TPCi has been known for keeping cards from us. :F

dmaster out.

I apologize if this is slightly off topic..but when Usually would we get our Set After BW #1

On topic:

Do you think these will be combined with the missing b/w jpn cards and the battle strength decks for our B/W#2 set?

Well given the size of this set, along with the combined size of the Battle Strength decks + what is missing from english BW1 = too big. You'd also need to factor in the Victini Decks that TPCi will jam into the sets too. Pretty much guaranteed you'll be seeing most of these in BW3 in english, in my opinion.

Interesting if it's true that all of the Unova Pokemon, excluding the last three, will be in the TCG after only three small sets (Black, White and Red). It definitely took RS and DP much longer than that.

I'm also guessing a few of these will be in our second BW English set, but only a few. There's 42 cards left from Beginning Set and Black/White Collections, 25 cards new to the Battle Strength Decks, and 20-30 cards from the Victini decks (since there are two decks with 10 Pokemon, 10 Trainers and 10 Energy each... but are they really going to make 20 new Trainers? Probably not), but that would be a bit on the small side.

Hmmm... Interesting, I hope they finally print something good, I think we may be looking at a very large August set in America, please tell me we would get a reprint of the same ultra rares from the last set. Both of which are awful... Woot... come on Pokemon do something awesome with this set!

Happy to be of service, old bean.

I really like how they're going back to the basics in releasing the remaining Unova Pokémon in card form this early, similar to the Classic and Neo sets. Seems to me that the cards in Red Collection will be part of the third US BW set. With everything coming so quickly, it makes me wonder how TPCi will be padding the time until the inevitable sixth generation.

Anime apparently has 'better pacing', aka, it's faster. G1/3 by the look of it.
TCG sped through the material, faster than Base/Jungle/Fossil(Bigger sets have something to do with that though)

I really am starting to suspect a lot of people were right and Serebii is wrong, Gen 6 by 2013 in Japan, 3rd Version uses Genosect and Kaledeo/Melotta are the last two movies or share one.

How is the TCG going faster than Gen 1 when they covered 153 Pokemon in three sets (Black - 55 cards, White - 55 cards, Red - 67 cards) and RBY covered 150 Pokemon in three sets (Base - 102 cards, Jungle - 48/64 cards, Fossil - 48/62 cards)?

And Gen 5's anime having Gen 1/3's "pacing" doesn't really mean anything those were the two Generations that needed filler arcs in the form of Orange and Battle Frontier.

BW are 1 set in two 'collections'. They were released on the same day in JPN and are called the 'Black and White Collection'. The International release, naturally, combines both sets and sheds some for the second set, which will be combined with the Battle Decks and Victini.

It's really two sets and a few decks over 7 months.

Base-Fossil, JPN dates, actually, about the same time. 7 months. No decks. Yeah. I'll give you this, it feels faster though.

Circumstances are different. Orange happened because GS was pushed back due to it going from a GB game to becoming part of the GB DX range(Same type of game as Zelda, Wario and Tetris DX).

Battle Frontier happened because of FRLG, a new occurrence for the franchise, the remake.

We are not guarantee there will be remakes this generation, or filler, RS are not literally 'ruined by time' like RG/GS with their batteries. 3DS is doing well, GF already have the dev kit and have had it for quite some time. BW were released on the deathbed of a platform, and unlike the GB with RG, will not and have not revive it. Nintendo will want Pokemon 3DS ASAP from Gamefreak, and a well selling 'new gen'.

Do remember though, the last two gens without remakes, the first two, was meant to last 2 years and did last 3 years respectively.

BW's release circumstances are completely unlike any other Generation.

I don't think FRLG had much to do with it. It seemed to me that Battle Frontier in the anime was more to promote Emerald since it was using a quest and characters that were exclusive to Emerald. True, they placed it in Kanto, but they did almost NOTHING with the Kanto aspect. And FRLG came out, like, almost two years before the Hoenn saga had finished. It was completely old news by the time Battle Frontier started.

I doubt Nintendo is in such a huge rush to get Pokemon out on the 3DS that they'll cut BW short just to push out another game faster than normal. The 3DS is selling well without Pokemon, and BW is selling well without the 3DS, and obviously a new Pokemon 3DS game is going to sell tons when it comes out anyway. GBA was fine for the year-plus that it didn't have RS. Ditto for the two years that the original DS didn't have DP.

And in regards to the TCG, we'll probably get a ton of filler sets now that all of the Unova Pokemon are in the TCG, plus we still need the last three Unova Pokemon. Gen III had nearly twenty sets even though pretty much all of them debuted within the first four or so sets, and Gen IV had everything but a few Legendaries out before PL even started, much less HGSS and BW's TCGs.

I'd assume so. Guess TPCi knew in advance that the second set would contain much fewer cards.

Fewer? Black Collection was 56 cards, as was White in Japan. This set is /larger/, and they've got to cram in 42 odd missing cards they pulled from the original run into this 66 card set, plus battle strength decks, plus victini deck. That is a lot of cards. Even without the Victini deck cards, that is still a big set they'd be running for English BW2.
