“Mega Brave” and “Mega Symphonia” TCG Sets Officially Revealed Featuring Return of Mega Evolutions!

The Megas having acceleration, that doesn't surprise me. They're actually quite worse than stuff that already exists in the format.
But a Stadion that draws up to 6, one-sided, is crazy work. At least with things like Dedenne or Crobat in the past you had to sacrifice a bench slot. It might genuinely overtake Forest of Giant Plants for the title of most broken stadium ever.

I do wonder if making Mega pokemon their normal stage has to do with card sourcing. This is entirely anecdotal but I found a lot of new players struggled with playing VMAX/VSTAR focused decks because they had to source the V and the VMAX/STAR. Doing this means players only have to open/purchase one multi-prizer, rather than multiple playsets.

The Venusaur can work. U guys worry too much. The real problem is M.Gardevoir, that thing is Tier 0 no questions asked. Even when regular ex rotates it might be tier 0 still, it didn't need The stadium. The meta is gonna suck if it's as good as it sounds.
The next few regionals with this set should see gardy ex + mega gardy + new stadium + wally

The sets arts look nice, I'm glad mega evolution is back, I feel sorry for latios since he was the one that was a regular card last time as well. But one thing I need to know is if trainer pokemon will stay

-Gets 2 V cards and a VMAX card
-Gets 2 Tag Team cards
-Gets a Radiant card
-Gets 2 ex cards alongside a SIR
-Gets 2 Mega EX cards in the XY era

Yeah Venusaur doesn't get enough love alright
It's every other grass type that doesn't get enough love 😭

I mean, it worked for Lv. X, which might as well be Mega Evolution in the TCG a couple generations early. The game is of course very different than it was back then, but there were plenty of Stage 2 Lv. X cards that saw play.
Lv X Pokemon existed in a format where you could play a basic and rare candy it into a stage 1 or stage 2 immediately

I read an attack like Ninetails’ “Suspicious Shapeshifting” and I wonder if the developers meant to make something unique - something interesting which makes players stop and think about adding that little extra bit of creativity to their decks…or if the development team for this set pencil whipped another throwaway card which will never see play in any LGS.

Some days I wish Rhystic Studies would make a video about cards like this.

Well yeah it wouldn’t be impossible to make it happen, but I don’t see it being very fun in the current landscape. I would agree with everyone saying 3 prizes aren’t ideal, but its absolutely a lot better than tag teams and vmax so im still hopeful that it can be fun.

EASILY; FoGP was very strong for certain decks, while this is such a huge boost to an already incredibly powerful deck that it feels like you either must play Gardevoir or play to beat Gardevoir. The meta is going to be just miserable to play soon.

I think people are overhyping the stadium, it's good for sure, great even, but not as powerful as having refinement kirlia back would be. The stadium has the same consistency issues that's kept Revaroom from succeeding Bibarel, late game, when most your energy is in discard, it's hard to actually use it when getting Iono'd to 1 or 2 cards in hand (and that assumes your opponent didn't bump it too).

Also Mega Gardevoir is risky, there's plenty of Darkness attackers that can one shot it, against PultZard you basically cannot play Mega Gardy if your opponent has a Charmander on the bench since you just lose the prize trade. It's still too early to think about post rotation, we have no idea what next year's base set for J block will bring, nevermind the rest of I block.

The issue with Pokemon-based draw (a good issue), is that they need investment. Revaroom or Bibarel you've got to set-up first with an evolution, they take up a bench spot, probably 2-4 deck spots. With this Stadium, the investment is close to zero. It's like having an Item that lets you draw up to 6 - already a crazy idea, but now you can do it again if your opponent doesn't remove it.

I think decks that run this stadium will likely need to run it in high counts along with near mandatory 4 copies of stretcher (not that there's much of a better card you can ask to have to run in high number). The stadium is for sure better than Revaroom, but it probably draws you up to 4 or 5 (you almost certainly will want Shaymin down, maybe Fez and we're assuming you managed to fill out your bench before drawing) cards not 6 like Revaroom. Also it can hurt to draw early game if you still need to draw into your setup cards like poffin, you're weaker to Budew since you're lkely dropping Artazon for it, and you do still need the energy so it is a two card combo, one that gets worse in the late game, it's not an all in one "Item that lets you draw up to 6". Again the stadium is fantastic I just don't think it breaks Gardevoir like people are saying.
