We can confirm Inferno X will release in Japan on September 26th. The set was previously revealed through trademarks.
As speculated before, the set will indeed feature Mega Charizard X. We last saw it during the XY block in 2016:

For the past decade, Charizard has always been the star of the second or third set of each block:

2014's XY: Flashfire
2017's Sun & Moon: Burning Shadows
2020's Sword & Shield: Darkness Ablaze
2023's Scarlet & Violet: Obsidian Flames

Inferno X will be the second MEGA set, following the dual sets Mega Brave and Mega...

Do we know anything about this year’s special set? Wondering if it’ll be themed around trainer’s Pokemon or Megas. Maybe both/neither?

this is exactly what I’m wondering with the new generation/era of cards not switching with the rotation dates - I feel like they’re keeping Prismatic as the “Scarlet and Violet wrap up set” because I can’t imagine them skipping 3-5 sets without Tera and then making a bunch of Tera reprints - it should be interesting to see what the high class will be this year - I fear it may be a shiny set with a tiny base of the New Mega card sets / like a new art of charizard / but only time will tell

That’s odd, don’t we normally skip a month when theme decks come out? I wonder why they didn’t want to release the Charizard set in October?

So going by schedules would this put Legends ZA and its associated TCG set in October?
It’s getting a whole era my guy - these are all basically ZA sets - this article is listing the first 2 sets we should see with Mega Pokémon are releasing in English Aug/Sept and Oct - Megas are kinda the whole gimmick of ZA so it seems we’re basically getting a HeartGold SoulSiver style mini era - new game characters won’t likely be in the first sets but maybe if timing is right the whole era will be new ZA content and not just rehashing the older Megas first for a few sets but only time will tell!

I think that’s just beginning of the year decks since it’s usually only May they skip a whole month for releases

I think this means they’ll skip October as well for any set releases

I prayge the special set releases before November 19. I'll be in Japan at that time and hope I can pick up a box for the first time in my life :O
