“Black Bolt” and “White Flare” Special Sets Revealed in English, Will Be First-Ever Dual Sets!

Pokémon TCG 'enjoyers' when the only pack they open doesn't have 1000 moonbreons, 700 sunbreons, 50 giritina Vs, and 1 of every charizard ever printed 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭🤬🤬🤬😡😡😡😡🤮🤮🤮
This set is not gonna be popular with those people at all because there aren't any gen 5 mons that gamefreak + TPCI shove in their faces as much as those mons. Which, obviously, is great for us!!!

Still really dislike english special sets. Buying a bunch of different products that most people normally wouldn't go for just to get a handful of packs.

Definitely don't regret quitting English and fully switching to japanese. It is cool though that this is the first time the English and japanese set names are the same
It's not the first time. Forbidden Light wasn't even that long ago. Not to mention Shining Legends.

I'm saying the name of the card doesn't need to be printed a second time on the card in an ugly white strip. this is new as of scarlet violet era
it isn't printed a second time, it's printed one time, additionally japanese basic energy cards have been doing it since SM and it's pretty sensible to do so in general

Why shouldn’t you know? You get the setlist before the thing is out.

I ger mine from the Pokémon Center. I also switched over. But I rarely open booster - why should i if i get almost the whole set for the price of 1-2 displays.
BECAUSE I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO. I don't want to look up a fudging guide to buying booster packs to get the Tomokazu Komiya art that I want. I just want the entire set

If you want to pull a specific card, having dual sets literally makes you twice as likely to pull it assuming you're willing to take advantage of that.

If not, buying an equal amount of each expansion will give you more or less the same experience as if it were one big expansion. Three of the products already come with an even split of booster packs.

It's been my pet theory for a while now that the SV series is a transitional period to unified releases. We switched to silver borders, retired the bespoke set symbols, started using Japanese pack art, and got near 1-to-1 sets like Shrouded Fable/Night Wanderer, and now we're getting a dual set release. Even overseas there have been a few moves to unify things: the Tactics decks released in China, Indonesia, and Thailand pretty obviously copy the aesthetics of our League Battle Decks, and the most recent Japanese starter kit adopted the Battle Academy name.
Look, I'll huff the copium that you're right. I'm just also trying to distance myself from being disappointed.

And you'd b e right if we didn't live in an era where you might not get a choice what product is available for you to buy

Oh cool. Read the news story and it said it was the first time hahaha my bad

Where do you get your Japanese sets if you don't mind em asking?
Hey, I get mine from this e-commerce shopping app called Shopee. Straight from Japanese sellers. Can even get discounts thru vouchers. Although I think the app is only available for use in Asian countries though, im from the Philippines. Not sure

if you already know the art you want exists through the use of the internet you already aren't making blind purchasing decisions and any refusal to simply check where it comes from is a self-inflicted dilemma you are being very dramatic about.

New set looks fire. I've been on the Pokémon Center page and I'm not sure if the pre-order drops are going to come in today. Maybe in the next few days from what I have seen. There has also been leaks on Reddit I've seen as well. Anyone predicting what time pre orders might drop?

As someone who most likely will buy just the etb and binder (and vastly prefers Reshiram over Zekrom) it sucks tho. But well it aint the biggest of deals
