Unless i am mistaken, but is N's plot just an extremely worse poppy? It would make sense that his new card would terrible, as he a very terrible character.

Because the counterplay to garbotoxin isn't interesting and arguably makes the game worse, even stadium wars with path to the peak was better because your stadiums could help you in other ways. Forcing everyone to play a bunch of tool scrappers to out garbotoxin just makes tools unnecessarily worse for all decks.

we don't "need" a dragon color hydreigon ex just because a black one exists. in fact, being dragon would make it a worse card.

It's just future proofed. It's funny how everybody fixates on Unfezant ex but Aerodactyl ex has been teased the same way and nobody gives a fudge.
I’ll be trying tankapagos with bouffalant myself, survives 3 hits from Pult with charm and two single prize bouffers in play. It’s too bad the damage reducing ones don’t include the ex version as part of the ability activation, just non-ex bouffalants.
It's likely only the stamped version is a promo, and the non-stamped is in the set. Unlike international promos, japanese promos can have the same artwork as a non-promo.
