'Shocking Volt Tackle,' Japan's September Set!

You can use U-Turn Board and/or Switch to cycle through multiple copies of Orbeetle VMAX that you have set up, since the ability is only limited to once per copy. Sounds pretty powerful and may be viable as its own deck coupled with a Roxie engine, or as part of a Dragapult VMAX deck.

'World Down' and 'Legendary Heartbeat,' Japan's Summer Sets Introducing Amazing Rares!

Turbo Patch is from the discard pile on a coin flip, so I wouldn't say it's without its own flaws. Sure, it's an Item, but that also means it's generally less searchable as well. Trumbeak could have some niche uses in decks that play enough energy to consistently use it. With 14-15 basic energy...

'World Down' and 'Legendary Heartbeat,' Japan's Summer Sets Introducing Amazing Rares!

The easiest way is Oranguru. Trumbeak's ability is basically half of a Max Elixir with the potential to attach more than 1 if you get lucky. Yes it's on a Stage 1, but that does make it easier to search and recycle with Scoop Up Net. A higher energy count means you'll average close to 1...

'World Down' and 'Legendary Heartbeat,' Japan's Summer Sets Introducing Amazing Rares!

Apparently we're the only ones who think Trumbeak could be viable energy acceleration with Scoop Up Net. It's a diamond in the rough of this set. Not every deck can afford the space for a thick 3/3 or 4/4 line of this, but it's not all that different from Malamar. (Yes, Malamar is more...

    Baaa~aaaa~~ First Wooloo Promo!

This is definitely not a majority opinion. Overall, I think this was one of the stronger new batches of Pokemon. I've seen several discussions where people who don't like a lot of the aspects of the new games have still conceded that the new Pokemon designs are pretty good overall. It's shaping...

    'Cosmic Eclipse,' November's English Set!

But Relentless Flames isn't the de facto best...I've always thought Blastoise Team Up was the best, with Relentless Flames and Charizard Team Up right up there with it.

Alolan Sandslash-GX, Leafeon, Glaceon, Rainbow Flower Promos Revealed!

Is it just me or does Alolan Sandslash seem like the new face of spread? It can beat Reshizard well due to weakness + the ability, leaving Gardevoir and Sylveon as the only bad matchup for spread. With some prior spread, you can wipe out an entire board (or at least kill a few Dedenne for 4+...

'Alter Genesis,' 'High Class Pack 2019' Sets Announced for Japan!

The Alolan Ninetales is cool, but doesn't really have any selling points that make it worth using over Rotom. The idea of dumping 15+ tools with Hapu and Dedenne sounds hilarious.

'Alter Genesis,' 'High Class Pack 2019' Sets Announced for Japan!

Keldeo is the best home for this currently, hands down. It hates Power Plant but doesn't really rely on a Stadium of its own. M&M relies too heavily on Giant Furnace with Welder (or Viridian Forest in some cases) to have the luxury of playing Chaotic Swell. It's better off with high counts of...

'Alter Genesis,' 'High Class Pack 2019' Sets Announced for Japan!

What's funny about this is that I'd usually say that could be difficult to find all of those pieces on turn 1, but Guzma and Hala drop in and do exactly that. I'm not sure it's banworthy because it's still really reliant on a stadium, but it's definitely really powerful for a basic non-GX in...

Guzma & Hala, Walrein, Kommo-o from 'Alter Genesis!'

Also, Kommo-o would be a pretty great card if it wasn't a Stage 2. It's better than Haxorus, and people still tried to make that work. Kommo-o can use Dojo and/or Karate Belt, Zeraora-GX, and Tapu Koko Prism Star. U-Turn Board basically solves the problem of needing to find a Tool every turn. Is...

Guzma & Hala, Walrein, Kommo-o from 'Alter Genesis!'

Guzma and Hala is interesting. It seems viable in a few decks, particularly Spiritomb Beasts / UB toolbox decks to grab Ultra Space, Beast Energy or Unit Energy, and Beastite or Escape Board. Aegislash can grab Shrine, Recycle Energy, and Board or Spell Tag.

'Alter Genesis,' 'High Class Pack 2019' Sets Announced for Japan!

    You mean Oricorio & Oricorio & Oricorio & Oricorio-GX?

'Alter Genesis,' 'High Class Pack 2019' Sets Announced for Japan!

This could be an option for non-GX decks, since they get the most value out of that ability. Maybe 2/1 Dedenne/Oricorio with some Cherish Balls. The attacks are stupidly weak for the energy cost, unfortunately.

    'Trevenant-GX Box' in October!

The biggest perk of doing that is so the Pokemon can't just retreat to avoid the KO.
