I would if they were competitively bad, but well built and tailored to be "good" decks in relation to each other. Hell, even when they were as bad as they were, playing theme format on ptcgo was fun (I'm a sucker for "deliberately low power level" formats in TCGs). Now imagine they were well...
Unless I'm going crazy, BW and XY frame has objectively more stuff going on, more details in various elements, etc. So unless by more "dull" you mean something completely subjective that I can't seem to grasp, I'd still maintain that XY frame is (almost objectively) superior.
I get the goal of this product, and it looks like it will deliver on it, I actually think this is great. My only complaint is, why the hell wouldn't they monetize Live to begin with, if you could buy cards and trade them, it would be amazing, and they would also have the money to justify...
