Interesting choice of trainers for this set. I guess it’s partly because ZA won’t be out yet so they’re holding off on Kalos characters

Ngl, they may be big basics with decent(?) attacks, but for the cost of three prize cards these megas feel incredibly underwhelming.

Though that could change based on what support the set has for each mega.

Acerola op fr fr (wrote this before they actually put down what acerola does)

in all honesty it's really funny to me how everyone was fearmongering about the new megas and with the exception of gardevoir and venusaur they're pretty mid lol

If Dark gets good accel options I think Absol Munkidori has potential to be extremely powerful

Mawile is functional, not amazing but it does swing good thresholds (esp with Vitality Band) and it has accel in Archaludon

"Choose 1 of your Pokémon in play" immediately makes Acerola nearly unusable.

Very glad they’re approaching this so conservatively. With the way the meta went the last time 3-prizers were introduced, they should be very careful. Honestly, it somewhat baffles me on why they think reintroducing 3-prizers is a good idea to begin with. I thought we’ve established by now that 1-prizers and 2-prizers are the way to go

Unfortunately I don't think Acerola or Mawile are good cards.

Absol, though? You need some kind of energy acceleration since you need 2 energy on it and some set-up munkidoris (or cofagrigus if you're a gamer), but the first attack is a somewhat easy way to steal KOs and the second attack one shots both regular and mega gardy ex. It probably needs more support but I think there's potential there.

With the remaining Megas yet to be revealed, I'm gonna predict that it will be Manectric, because there could be an opportunity for Ampharos to be a Dragon type, and there is also Charizard X as well.

EDIT: Thinking on from Ampharos, we could also see a Fighting type Mewtwo X in the near future if the TCG play their cards right.

I do see your point but I think these cards might be better off as being finishers based on their first moves
