Pokemon's first-ever permanent theme park, PokePark KANTO, will open in early 2026 in Tokyo's Tama Hills! Advance ticket sales are expected to begin in late 2025. No pricing has been announced yet.
The park will be part of Yomiuriland, Tokyo's largest theme park that opened in 1964. PokePark KANTO will stretch over 26,000 square meters in a dedicated section of Yomiuriland.
According to Pokemon's official press release, the park will feature over 600 Pokemon:
PokéPark KANTO is a Trainers’ Area—a Pokémon-packed park where Trainers can make unforgettable discoveries on their journey through the forest and town, home to over 600 Pokémon!
The Pokémon Forest is a spacious wilderness spanning nearly 500 meters in length. It features various terrains including hilly paths, tall grass, tunnels, rocky trails, and more. Observe a wide variety of Pokémon from Kanto and other regions as they run, battle, and share Berries. Here, you will find Pokémon that tower high overhead and others that hide underground or behind greenery. What exactly are those Pokémon doing? Keep your eyes peeled and find your favorite Pokémon.
Sedge Town is a place where Pokémon and Trainers from around the world meet and forge new friendships. In Sedge Town, you will find the Pokémon Trainers’ Market full of goods, as well as the Pokémon Center, Poké Mart, Sedge Gym, a Pokémon parade, and two other attractions! Connect with Pokémon Trainers and Pokémon alike at Sedge Town’s iconic Primarina Fountain for an unforgettable experience.
I'll be in Japan in November and I'm SO SAD it won't be opening before then. I'll have to schedule another trip so I can report back because this sounds like such a fun experience.

The fact that it's specifically Kanto makes me wonder if they'll open more in other locations based on regions, like galar in the UK or Unova in the states

But if it has over 600 (assumingly different) Pokémon, it must be much more than just Kanto Pokémon. Maybe it features some gyms, cities, and other scenery from Kanto.

It's odd that I would have to explain this to what I assume would be adults. It being meant for kids is not an excuse, it's the reason why you, an adult, find it lame or boring. Kids will find it more entertaining unless they are told different. It's not mediocre, it's just not meant for you to find exciting. Do you guys go watch nick Jr, and judge is Dora the explorer is exciting or thrilling? Let kids enjoy the subtle enjoyment they are bringing them.

It'd odd that I would have to explain this to what I assume would be a person without some kind of hearing impariment, but children are just as unimpressed by statues too. Call me When Super Nintendo world gets a Pokemon attraction.
