Ultra PRO “Trick Room” Gallery Series Line Revealed!

Ultra PRO will be releasing a new “Trick Room” Gallery series line. It will feature Mr. Rime, Gardevoir, Reuniclus, and Wobbuffet, which can all learn Trick Room in the video games.

These will release in the second quarter (April through June 2024). Ultra PRO products never have specific release dates.

As usual, the products will feature stock Ken Sugimori artwork.

English "ULTRA PRO" shouldn't be called ultra or pro these are so bland. Wish they'd hire some of the fantastic fan artists out there because they'd sell WAYYYY more of these
I'm pretty sure this isn't Ultra PRO's fault. I think TPCi only allows their partners to use stock artwork for collaborations. This might be because of royalties or quality control.

Again everyone, like @Water Pokémon Master said, it seems that Pokémon probably only allows Ultra Pro (and other such companies) to use basic stock art (affectionately known as “Sugimori artwork” by some) in their products, or at least places similar limitations. I think that Ultra Pro would love to feature super cool artwork; I don’t think they’d pass that up if it was an option.

Why not reach out to either for comment?
I mean, TPCi has no reason to answer the question. You can just look at the merchandise. Even high-end collabs, like the ones they do with high-fashion brands, are just stock images. There was that $900 FENDI Dragonite shirt. UNIQLO seems to be the only exception, and that's probably only because they're a Japanese brand.

Just because it has a good explanation doesnt mean we can not be dissapointed time and time again.
I never saw the pokemon branded Ultra Pro stuff here, and I am glad about it!
I rather buy a blank ( usually dark blue to black ) Ultra Pro big binder, along with their sheets.
Cause, yes, Ultra Pros material quality is great!

But calling tpcis policy of only allowing stock imagery quality control makes me riot! Quality Control is literally my job, and this has nothing to do with it!

What it seems to be is that tpci simply does not want to do quality control and thusly they choose the safe and lazy route where they dont have to worry about imagequality being off.
You dont perform quality control by bypassing quality control.

The sheet and blank binder quality of Ultra Pro so far remained very good and sturdy over here.
Dont know how it is in the US.

That's not necessarily true - recently I bought a Mimikyu hoodie from a local clothing brand and it had custom art on it. BlackMilk (Australian brand) has Pokemon collabs with entirely custom artwork. It really seems like UltraPro is getting shafted here for some reason.

That’s a good point, it seems that it’s mainly Ultra Pro getting the short end of the Farfetch’d’s leek here.

Can you link to an example? I just looked at their website and it looks like they're just using anime artwork.

Looking at the BlackMilk merch and yeah, it looks like anime stock art that you can find on bulbapedia: https://archives.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Category:Art_from_Pokémon_the_Series:_Ruby_and_Sapphire.
