TM Crisis Shot, Students in Paldea, and Other New Cards from “Shiny Treasure ex!”

A couple of brand new cards have just been revealed from Japan’s Shiny Treasure ex! The set will release in Japan on December 1st. We expect its new cards to release in our special January set.

Thanks goes to JustInBasil and ToineLay for the translations!

Frigibax – Water – HP70
Basic Pokemon

[W] Collect: Draw a card.

[W][C] Beat: 20 damage.

Weakness: Metal (x2)
Resistance: None
Retreat: 2

Varoom – Metal – HP60
Basic Pokemon

[C] Rev Up: Put up to 2 Basic Energy cards from your discard pile into your hand.

[M][C] Headbutt: 20 damage.

Weakness: Fire (x2)
Resistance: Grass (-30)
Retreat: 1

Technical Machine: Crisis Shot – Trainer
Tool

The Pokémon this card is attached to can use the attack on this card. (You still need the necessary Energy to use this attack.) If this card is attached to 1 of your Pokémon, discard it at the end of your turn.

[C][C][C] Crisis Shot: 280 damage. You can use this attack only if your opponent has exactly 1 Prize card remaining.

You may attach any number of Pokémon Tools to your Pokémon during your turn. You may attach only 1 Pokémon Tool to each Pokémon, and it stays attached.

Students in Paldea – Trainer
Supporter

Search your deck for a Pokémon that doesn’t have a Rule Box, reveal it, and put it into your hand. For each other Students in Paldea in your discard pile, you may search your deck for another Pokémon that doesn’t have a Rule Box. Then, shuffle your deck. (Pokémon ex, Pokémon V, etc. have Rule Boxes.)

You may attach only 1 Supporter card during your turn.

(This card has two illustrations in the set.)

As expected, it was also revealed the set will contain the alternate art Alakazam ex that was included in our Alakazam ex Box. This set will be how Japan gets many of our alternate art prints, like the prerelease promos from our Build and Battle Boxes.

Students in Paldea is a cool concept, but Whitney did it better. By the time you can draw 4 cards, your board is already set up.

Naoki Saito and Cona Nintada are gonna be the make-or-breaks for these Students, since they're too mediocre otherwise. Saito-san is basically the Arita of Supporters these days, and Nintada has already built their reputation nicely with the SAR Erika and the FA Parasol Lady, so it'll be interesting to see if the Students get any FAs

Wouldn't the ruling be u still need 3 energy?
Like the attack is the card. Cram ability is crams attack cost no energy.
Kinda like forest seal stone is a ability of the card not the pokemon that's why u can use it throu path
No. Cramorant's official English translation is imprecise.

You actually only need to discard 1 student in order to get okay value out of the card. The magic happens when you have 2 in the discard pile.

While we will probably just stick to research and iono, this aint that bad

None of the students look remotely similar to any of those in the game lol.

In addition the recent japanese commercial advertises Technical Maschine: Crisis Shot to be used for free with Cramonant and as an alternative to Giratina Vstar's attack to close the game. Thus, a zero cost Crisis Shot from Cramorant is in (on) the card(s).

Oh great, that probably means both Students in Paldea will get full arts, taking up more spots for characters who actually deserve them (like Raifort, Atticus, and Brassius)

The Frigibax will likely take over as the 70HP one in Chien-Pao ex. Students is bad. It's just straight up terrible. Absolutely horrendous.

What would the ruling be for the PAR Simi’s that have the ability “Ignore all colorless energy attack cost if all 3 Simi’s are in play”? Could we theoretically use the TM?

Yes. It's the same as Cramorant.

It looks like Cramorant will get along well with the students. He can devour any pokemon that crosses his path and use its abilities against opponents. This is very useful when you need to win an important match or just lift your spirits. Moreover, he looks very amusing when flying with a fish in his mouth.

in the world of education, like in an exciting game, every student is looking for their knowledge pokemon. An idea for your paper can be found by simply checking the site link and it will be a flight of imagination. Here is the Cramorant of inspiration.
