A Character Super Rare of Mimikyu VMAX will debut in VMAX Climax! The card features Acerola. The set will release in Japan on December 3rd.
All regular cards from the set were revealed a few days ago. Mimikyu VMAX is one of the handful of new cards in the set, which is largely comprised of reprints.
[C][C] Occult Number: Put 4 damage counters on your opponent’s Pokemon in any way you like. If you played Acerola’s Premonition from your hand during this turn, put 13 damage counters instead.
[P][P] Max Shadow: 120 damage. Discard a random card from your opponent’s hand.
When your Pokemon VMAX is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 3 Prize cards.
Weakness: Darkness (x2)
Resistance: Fighting (-30)
The set’s secret rares will all be revealed by next week. The following Character Rares and Character Super Rares have been revealed so far:
The new cards from Japan’s VMAX Climax will most likely become part of the international Brilliant Stars set, which releases on February 25th. As we’ve noted before:
Judging by the numbering, it seems the Japanese set will have around 30 Character Rares (Flapple through Oranguru) and around 40 Character Super Rares (Blaziken V through Blissey V).
We know from the English set description that Brilliant Stars will have 30 cards in a “Trainer Gallery” subset, so we may not be seeing all 70 of them in February. TPCi may choose to split them across a few sets and release some as promos. In this case, we don’t know which ones we’ll see in Brilliant Stars.
It’s also possible TPCi is hiding the Character Super Rares from the English set description. For example, they may be counting the Character Rares as the 30 cards they mentioned. Then the 40 Character Super Rares would somehow be secret rares in our English set.
We’ll find out in the coming months!
