First Ice Rider / Shadow Rider Calyrex V Cards Revealed!

The promos of Ice Rider Calyrex V and Shadow Rider Calyrex V from the S6 “Jumbo Pack” have now been revealed! They are different from the ones in the two sets, but those STILL haven’t been revealed yet. It’s quite unusual for Creatures to withhold the star cards at this stage.

Ice Rider Calyrex V – Water – HP210
Basic Pokemon

[W][C] Blizzard: 40 damage. This attack also does 10 damage to each of your opponent’s Benched Pokemon. (Don’t apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokemon.)

[W][W][C] Frost Stomp: 140 damage.

When your Pokemon V is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

Weakness: Metal (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 2

Shadow Rider Calyrex V – Psychic – HP210
Basic Pokemon

[P] Dusk Cloak: Attach a [P] Energy card from your discard pile to this Pokemon.

[P][P][C] Hollow Bind: 130 damage. During your opponent’s next turn, the Defending Pokemon can’t Retreat.

When your Pokemon V is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

Weakness: Darkness (x2)
Resistance: Fighting (-30)
Retreat: 2

As posted before, the Jumbo Pack will release on April 23rd for 990 yen. It will come with two booster packs of each S6 set, one of two Calyrex coins, and three of six promo cards — a reverse holo Trainer card, a reverse holo Energy card, and one of the Calyrex V.

I thought this thing will be immediately used in the upcoming V-Union mechanic

These are super mediocre for Vs! Maybe thay have VMaxes or are bases for V-Unions?

pretty weak cards competitively by themselves. though the models look hd as fugg. the new mechanic will be very interesting to see. I can only imagine what it will be.

Hopefully it isnt something banal like a Mega-Vmax 500HP worth 4 prizes, and an interesting and varied mechanic.

Read the thing, people, jeez... Promo Urshifus are also bad compared to their main set counterparts, this is most definitely the same thing and the actual main set ones will be the good ones.

These might be the worst legendary rule box Pokemon ever printed excluding stuff like family boxes. If they don't have good VMAX to make up for it they did my boy dirty.

Its not surprising to know that these are promos. The Urshifu promos were pretty bad compared to their Vs in the set.

Welp, lets just hope the VMAXes are good. At least from what I know, cards that are the stars of a set are generally great in one way or another

I mean two energy for 40 to the active and 40 to each benched v and gx with telescopic sight isn’t too bad.

Seems pretty clear to me like others say this won't be their final forms, especially with the unrevealed V-Union mechanic to debut within the set.

lol why are people saying these are bad?
These just have to be better than the other horse vs that are coming out in the main set.
These are pretty good in that sense, especially ghost horse with the power up attack and a retreat lock attack.
Ice horse isn't that bad either. 40 spread 10 is not bad on a v you are just going to evolve.

WPM states in the post "They are different from the ones in the two sets, but those STILL haven’t been revealed yet".

i.e. These aren't the cards that we'll be receiving in the upcoming sets. If anything, they strike me as sort of tin promo-style cards.

Given the nature of the Reins of Unity in the games, I'll be amazed in the V-Union mechanic isn't based around these cards.

I would expect Reins of Unity to be a card similar to Polymerization in YuGiOh, or maybe you attach one Pokemon as a Pokemon Tool to the other.

My goodness, people reeeeeeally don't read the body of the post.

"The promos of Ice Rider Calyrex V and Shadow Rider Calyrex V from the S6 “Jumbo Pack” have now been revealed! They are different from the ones in the two sets, but those STILL haven’t been revealed yet."

Those are literally the first sentences of the post. These aren't good for the same reason the promo Urshifus aren't good. The main set ones will be the good ones.
