Pokémon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle Releasing in 2021

The Pokémon Company International has announced that the 23rd Pokemon movie, Secrets of the Jungle, will release to fans around the world in 2021. The movie prominently features Koko, a young boy who acts like a Pokemon and the new Mythical Pokemon Zarude, which today saw the release of its first ever Pokemon card in Pokémon Sword & Shield–Vivid Voltage.

There is no word yet on how the movie will be released—whether it will be released directly to a streaming service like Mewtwo Strikes Back–Evolution or if it will receive a theatrical release like The Power of Us.

November 13, 2020—Today, The Pokémon Company International announced that the Mythical Pokémon Zarude will star in the next animated Pokémon film, “Pokémon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle,” and the latest Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion that launched today. It will also appear in the best-selling Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield video games through an upcoming distribution.

“Pokémon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle” Trailer Revealed
The Pokémon Company International unveiled the newest animated film based on the beloved Pokémon franchise, “Pokémon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle,” coming to fans around the world in 2021. As the 23rd animated Pokémon film, “Pokémon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle” tells the story of Koko, a young boy raised by Pokémon, and the creation of a new bond between humans and Pokémon. Deep in the jungle, far from any human settlement, is the Forest of Okoya—a Pokémon paradise forbidden to outsiders and protected by a strict code of rules. In this jungle lives Koko, a human boy who has been raised as a Pokémon by the Mythical Pokémon Zarude. Koko has grown up never doubting that he is a Pokémon. But one day, a chance meeting with Ash and Pikachu leaves Koko with his first human friend. Is he truly a Pokémon? Or is he, in fact, a human? When danger threatens the Forest of Okoya, the bonds between Pokémon and human—as well as the love between parent and child—will be put to the test.

As far as I can tell there are two different Zarudes. There is the normal one (which is the one we're getting and that Japan has already got) and there is Dada Zarude (the one with the pink cape) which Japan will get when the movie comes out December 25. Who wants to bet that we'll get Dada Zarude when the movie comes out internationally?

Nah, I think it'll be on Netflix like the previous one.

Maybe, they'll sync to the Japan one, since the movie was postponed up to Christmas Day. But it says the 2021 movie, so ignore that one.
