‘The Master’s Path’ Revealed as French Name for Special 2020 Set, More Product Details!

We’ve learned the French name for our special 2020 holiday set will be La Voie du Maître.

In English, this translates to The Master’s Path or The Way of the Master. The actual English name will probably be different.

We also have additional details of the products we’ve previously announced. Update (Thursday, 1 PM): Added final details of all the products!

  • September 25th: Pin Boxes — There will be three versions this time. Each will come with one holo card (not a Pokemon V), one pin, three packs of the set, and a PTCGO code card.
  • September 25th: V Box — It will feature one Pokemon V promo, a jumbo version, four booster packs of the set, and a PTCGO code card.
  • September 25th: Elite Trainer Box — Like recent holiday sets, it will come with 10 packs of the set, an exclusive promo card, and the usual Elite Trainer Box trimmings. The promo card is not mentioned to be a Pokemon V.
  • September — Ultra PRO 4-pocket and 9-pocket portfolios (pictured in this news story, previously revealed).
  • October 2nd: Special Pin Collection — There will be two versions, each featuring five booster packs of the set, two promo cards, two pins, and a PTCGO code card.
  • October 23rd: V Box — It will feature one Pokemon V promo, a jumbo version, four booster packs of the set, and a PTCGO code card.
  • October 23rd: Premium Collection — This will include five booster packs, two promo cards, a jumbo card, a collector’s pin, a poster, and a PTCGO code card.
  • October 23rd: Super Premium Collection — It will include eight booster packs of the set, two promo cards, two collector’s pins, one playmat, and a PTCGO code card.

These are the only products we know about so far. All of them will release from September through October. Like all special sets, its booster packs will only be available through promo products. You can’t officially buy individual booster packs like a normal set.

As posted before:

Alcremie VMAX comes from Legendary Heartbeat, confirming inclusion of the set’s cards.

Drednaw VMAX and Gardevoir VMAX come from Japan’s Infinity Zone set, meaning they will be cut from our Darkness Ablaze set and put into this holiday set. Galarian Obstagoon doesn’t have red Dynamax clouds, so it’s likely representing the holo rare from Infinity Zone.

It looks like it’s going to be difficult to predict the set list for Darkness Ablaze with several cards being removed!

That’s probably gonna be revised as it’s an odd name for a non Japanese set. Probably gonna be something else

Judging by the name, I would assume Urshifu would be involved but it isn't on any of the artwork.

WPM, do we know all these products are directly associated with this set? I've been commenting on these more recent threads with educated guesses about a "SM Premium Trainers Box," but I didn't invent that out of thin air so much as I thought it was intimated in one of your news articles about this set; can backtrack to find it but also can't be bothered since at this point it is or it isn't – and it's starting to look less the case.

So I’m guessing the Super premium collection will be a bit cheaper than $80 this time considering that it only comes with 8 packs instead of ten. Also kind of wish they included those 3 big storage boxes instead of the pins since I’m starting to run out of card storage lol

The ones listed in this story are associated with the set. There are other products we've reported that have nothing to do with this set but are still releasing in the same period.

We originally thought the SM full arts might release in this set since initial product listings back in March called the boxes "GX Boxes." Now they're listed as "V Boxes."

According to my source, Pokemon sent some trademark names that depicted to both Urshifus. This will be the Dec set and splits into two

Still could be possible! Maybe they'll pull another "Hidden Fates" on us and put the SM full arts into a little subset that you can potentially get in the reverse holo slot.

I doubt TPCi would release another one, the Premium Trainer’s XY Collection was a major shelf-warmer (and still it to some extent).

Adding onto what @FireLizard said, Champion's Path was announced via Pokemon's Twitter page and some details on the set were released via the official site.
Here are some of the details from the site...
    • Over 70 cards
    • Cards featuring recently discovered Pokémon from the Galar region
    • 15 awesome Pokémon V and 3 gigantic Pokémon VMAX (Eldegoss V, Lucario V, Duraludon V, Drednaw VMAX, and Alcremie VMAX are mentioned)
    • 19 Trainer cards and a Special Energy card
Kind of surprised by the low set size and the high amount of Pokemon Vs to be honest.

EDIT: Forgot to add Drednaw VMAX and Alcremie VMAX to the list of revealed Pokemon V.

This is supposed to be our holiday set? Seems like a HUGE downgrade from Dragon Majesty to Hidden Fates to (blows raspberry) this?

    Personal Opinion

2016 (20th Anniversary of Pokemon) we got Generations and Evolutions set.

    For 2021 (25th Anniversary)
Who's ready for another Generation 1 Only Set (like Generations or Evolutions)?

Say what you will, but I feel we could use nostalgia once again.
