Spikemuth and Copperajah from ‘Infinity Zone!’

Two new cards have just been revealed from S3 Infinity Zone! The set will be released in Japan on June 5th. Thanks goes to Law T. for the translations!

Copperajah – Metal – HP190
Stage 1 – Evolves from Cufant

Ability: Antibacterial Skin
This Pokemon can’t be affected by Special Conditions.

[M][M][C][C] Revenge Stomp: 120+ damage. If any of your Benched Pokemon have any damage counters on them, this attack does 120 more damage.

Weakness: Fire (x2)
Resistance: Grass (-30)
Retreat: 4

Spikemuth – Trainer
Stadium

Whenever a player’s Pokemon is moved from the Active Spot to the Bench during their turn, put 2 damage counters on that Pokemon.

This card stays in play when you play it. Discard this card if another Stadium card comes into play. If another card with the same name is in play, you can’t play this card.

    • Spikemuth Town - nice card, can be helpful in some decks that requires combos. Houndoom V comes to mind. 4 Geodudes. (Darkness Ablaze gave us good stadiums these days, Glimwood Tangle, Rose Tower, and this)
    • Copperajah - 240 is nice since this can use Twin Energy. 3-4

Completely agree with you about Scizor, also there are 2 VMAX in this main Japanese set (so far). Even if they've announced all the V Pokemon, there is no way they only have two VMAX in a 100+ card set.

I think Scizor, then Rhyperior, then Houndoom are the options for VMAX. 3 Fire VMAX in our main English set would be a lot though.

I feel like the art on Copperajah doesn't quite do it justice, but the attack looks pretty nice... if only it was more streamable, but I suppose that if it was it would be too OP haha.

Perhaps in Expanded with Metal Links Bronzong (or, you know, ADP....)

They are really pushing the amount of Copperajah cards. It's in almost every set. The Bewear of Sun&Moon...
    Pretty neat art again, though.

Can someone explain what decks Spikemuth would fit into? It seems ok but doesn't do much for any deck I can think of because most decks have better cards to replace it with and also are those decks good?

Houndoom V benefits from it similar to Spiritomb decks and others that have an outrage attack. Another option would be damage spread decks such as Dragapult VMAX who really appreciate the extra damage and have an easier time to limit the opponent to switch and retreating by using Mr. Mime to shut down Scoop Up Net as an alternative that is not covered by Spikemuth Stadium.

You could combo it with that Copperajah to put damage on your own bench.

Metal Saucer and Twin Energy would be fine as its needs two turns to set up being a stage 1.

They said streamable its very unlikely you could get the neccesary set up required to charge 4 copperajah consistently

    • Galarian Obstagoon - Since you are playing Zigzagoon tha drops dmg, maybe include this for some little hand distruption. 3-4
    • Tubro Patch - I don't know why they release this card when Vs are a thing? According to the tweet, "It's Max Elixir without the skill." I may not like this because this may lead to so many losses that I may acquire. 3 Geodudes
The video give some ways. Can be used in some outrage decks, Stunfisk, etc.

So, we are not getting any more type specific parches, and instead this unholy amalgamation?

Woah. Not only is it an unimpressive card, but they're straight-up shafting GXes in favor of Vs.

    This card should read:
"Choose a basic Energy card from your discard pile and attach it to 1 of your Basic Pokemon (excluding Pokemon-GX and Pokemon-V)."

It’s so odd that Turbo Patch only excludes GXs and not Vs. some has an explanation on why this could be?

I agree re Turbo Patch; it seems super weird. I was kind of hoping that Mewtwo & Mew-GX might somehow be viable towards the end of next year if the game pushed heavily towards V contra non-V Pokémon but this makes it look like they're just trying to completely squeeze out GXs as quickly as possible!
