‘League Battle Decks’ to Feature TAG Team Pokemon, Deck Supplies!

We’ve now received official information for the “League Battle Decks” we previously announced!

As posted before, two 60-card decks will release. One deck will feature 2x Reshiram and Charizard-GX and 1x Charizard and Braixen-GX while the other will feature 1x Raichu and Alolan Raichu-GX and 2x Pikachu and Zekrom-GX. Thus, each deck will feature three Pokemon-GX.

Each League Battle Deck will also come with a deck box, two acrylic condition markers, an acrylic TAG TEAM GX marker, 6 damage-counter dice, a regular dice, a Pokemon TCG rulebook, and a PTCGO code card. (We previously reported there would be no deck box, but this was based on preliminary information sent to retailers.)

Each deck will retail for $24.99 and release on May 22nd.

These League Battle Decks seem to be replacing Battle Arena Decks. They’re $5 cheaper but come with dice over paper counters.

I think I might have to pick these up, I really like the look of these. Plus, I could go for two more Reshizards. I already HAVE one but that art's so good I kinda want three in a row.

Awesome! I got into competitive play by buying a Battle Arena Deck, and these look even better. Hopefully they will have better deck lists too.

I imagine something similar to the Ultra Necrozma and Ray decks.

Reshizard and Pikarom's card price will now go low because of this. (Well, the promo exists before this but, hey.)

Wonder if these will come with any other chase cards - like Jirachis, for example, which appeared in the prior set of these (the Malamar/UNecrozma deck). Presumably not Dedenne GX, but Jirachi definitely is a fit for the PikaZek version (and could easily be for Reshizard as well, for that matter, though less common).

Maybe, but we said the same thing about jirachi.

Honestly, the reason they won't is largely that they already are pretty low. Both had easily obtainable promo versions, and neither is a top deck right now (both are _good_ decks, but neither is BDIF or anything like that).

Both are a bit under $10 right now, which means a $25 deck that has two of them (and not much else of real value) won't move the needle on their price very much; it might drop it a dollar or two but not much.

Unless they're second fiddle to something better in the deck, anyway - i.e., Jirachi, or something equivalent (though I can't imagine what else could be in either deck that would be equivalent).

They might even come with custom catchers which played a part in many league decks. I think pokemon are finally responding to reducing the value on the second market and making it cheaper to play the game, the same way yugioh have been doing for a while?

I just hope they end up doing more Expanded cards soon. They've hugely improved making certain things accessible to players (See every TTGX tin in the last year), but I really really hope Expanded can get a similar treatment soon.

Daaaamnnn. With these, the Zacian V tins, and one more SWSH Prerelease kit that I still want to get... man, that’s a lot of money to be going out all at once. I would prefer it by a mile if they staggered the releases of these high-demand products by a month or so.

This is so cool! I've always wanted to try to get into the competitive scene, but never really had the money or know-how to build a good deck. This just makes that so much easier which I love.

We don't know what other cards are included though. If this has dedenne, jirachi, or marnie it will be the same as before where these will never be in stock.
