‘GG End’ Booster Pack Revealed!

The booster pack image for SM10a GG End has now been revealed!

As posted way back in November:

GG End is a mini-set that will release on April 5th, featuring 54 cards. The “GG” refers to Giratina and Garchomp (Gablias) and could also refer to the common term “good game.” It’s a Dragon-themed set. The booster pack features Garchomp and Giratina, so it’s almost certain we’ll get a Dragon-type Garchomp & Giratina-GX Tag Team card.

A new Sky Legends mini-set will release three weeks later on April 26th featuring Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres. It too will feature 54 cards. No other details are known about the set. Wouldn’t it be cool if we get Tag Team cards of the birds like the original Articuno, Moltres, & Zapdos jumbo card?

This is the first time two sets are releasing within the same month. This is likely happening because Japan’s annual “Golden Week” starts April 29th. It’s a series of national holidays where people get time off work and spend more money. Pokemon is likely trying to capitalize on this, especially with the recent boom in the TCG’s popularity. In other words, this saturated release schedule is probably a one-time thing.

Then in December, we learned:

GG End will also feature a new card that’s dedicated to enhancing Tag Team Pokemon. No other details are known about it at this time.

Sky Legends will feature the first Tag Team Pokemon-GX with three Pokemon on one card — Articuno, Zapdos, & Moltres-GX! All three Pokemon are Flying-type, plus the set is named Sky Legends, so it’s likely their GX will be Colorless like the original promo. Maybe we’ll even get a jumbo version of the card in a box at some point?

Sky Legends will also feature Lusamine, Lillie, and Gladion as regular holo Supporter cards. They will likely feature new artwork.

A new Supporter card will also appear in the set — “Jessie & James!” No other details are known about their card at this time. Perhaps when this set is released in America, they’ll also give us some of the cards from 2017’s Ash vs. Team Rocket deck?

GG End will likely be revealed on the official Pokemon Card website within the next week along with its star Tag Team card. Sky Legends will then immediately follow. Stay tuned!
