Pokemon-GX in Spring ‘Tag Team Tins’ Revealed!

As posted last week, three new “Tag Team Tins” will release in America and Europe on March 29th.

We’ve now learned they’ll feature promos of Pikachu & Zekrom-GX, Eevee & Snorlax-GX, or Celebi & Venusaur-GX.

Each tin will feature four booster packs, a “special art” GX promo card, a metal TAG TEAM GX marker, and a PTCGO code card that unlocks a deck.

We know for sure Eevee & Snorlax-GX are getting promo artwork in Japan, so the one below may be the one we’ll get in the tin. So far no alternate art versions of the other Tag Teams are known to exist aside from their in-set secret rares.

Pikachu & Zekrom-GX – Lightning – HP240
Basic Pokemon (TAG TEAM)

[L][L][L] Full Blitz: 150 damage. Search your deck for up to 3 [L] Energy cards and attach them to 1 of your Pokemon. Then, shuffle your deck.

[L][L][L]+ Tag Bolt GX: 200 damage. If this Pokemon has at least 3 extra [L] Energy attached to it (in addition to this attack’s cost), this attack does 170 damage to 1 of your opponent’s Benched Pokemon. (Don’t apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokemon.) (You can’t use more than 1 GX attack in a game.)

When your TAG TEAM is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 3 Prize cards.

Weakness: Fighting (x2)
Resistance: Metal (-20)
Retreat: 3

Eevee & Snorlax-GX – Colorless – HP270
Basic Pokemon (TAG TEAM)

[C] Cheer Up: Attach an Energy card from your hand to 1 of your Pokemon.

[C][C][C][C] Dump Truck Press: 120+ damage. If your opponent’s Active Pokemon is an Evolution Pokemon, this attack does 120 more damage.

[C][C][C][C]+ Megaton Friends GX: 210 damage. If this Pokemon has at least 1 extra Energy attached to it (in addition to this attack’s cost), draw cards until you have 10 cards in your hand. (You can’t use more than 1 GX attack in a game.)

When your TAG TEAM is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 3 Prize cards.

Weakness: Fighting (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 4

Venusaur & Celebi-GX – Grass– HP270
Basic Pokemon (TAG TEAM)

[G][C][C] Pollen Hazard: 50 damage.  Your opponent’s Active Pokemon is now Burned, Confused and Poisoned.

[G][G][C][C] Solar Beam: 150 damage.

[G][G][C][C]+ Evergreen GX: 180 damage. Heal all damage from this Pokemon. If this Pokemon has at least 1 extra [G] Energy attached to it (in addition to this attack’s cost), shuffle all cards from your discard pile into your deck. (You can’t use more than 1 GX attack in a game.)

When your TAG TEAM is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 3 Prize cards.

Weakness: Fire (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 4

Legends and Tag Team GX both killed it in the art department. (Though I personally prefer Legends)

I understand why the tin pick pikachu n Eevee, but i felt like venusaur is a weird choice
Felt the venusaur inclusion like a pity party because it kept being left out by Blastoise n Charizard

If the special art is these alternate ones then will that exclude them from our English set as SR cards?

Yeah, its the lost starter that never gets any recognition even though it was secretly the best.

With all due respect to TPCi, it looks like that picture of Snorlax and Eevee eating sitrus berries was drawn with a left hand. :D:D:D

Ahem. My starter in Fire Red.

It was not pear, it was Sitrus Berry. Or should I say Sitrus Bewwy (Poke Aim). That means they're exclusion in the set proper

I would be sort of surprised if they made that snorlax the tin promo, as its not a very desirable art style for western kids, which is mainly the product market

They look a LOT more like pears than sitrus berries, but eh, ok. :D:D:D

Why would they put a secret rare in a bloody tin? Pikachu already belongs to the set though. Only snorlax make sense..

A metal GX marker? It’ll probably look pretty sharp.
