This coming year promises some big changes to the Play! Pokemon system, and we’re already hearing about one exciting change from TPCi’s Dylan “ExoByte” Mayo regarding how players will become eligible for Worlds:

Next years World Championship invites will not be based on a Top X system. There will be a cutoff. Everyone with more points than the cutoff will make the list. No one will bump anyone off, no one getting an invite via points will prevent anyone else from getting an invite from points.

It seems that now more people will have the opportunity to play in Worlds if they earn it; however, we still have to wait for the rest of the details before we can know anything for sure (such as how high the aforementioned cutoff bar will be). The rest of next year’s system will be revealed very soon.
