Welcome to the Pokemon TV Caption Challenge! Let me explain to you how it works:

1. MylesPrower posts up a Pokemon anime screenshot.
2. Up to 15 competitors can post a caption catering to that screenshot. The round will end when 15 entries are received or a deadline is reached.
3. The best, funniest, or most clever caption wins the round, and its author receives the power to judge the next round with me. The author's name also appears in the thread's top post.
4. If a round's winner becomes unavailable, the spot will be given to second or third place.

If everyone plays with their wit, plays by the rules, and takes it [not too] seriously, this could be a ton of fun.

Here are the rules:

1. Only one entry per person per screenshot, so make it count!
2. Please try your best to keep sexual innuendo to a minimum, or perhaps indirect.
3. Just use common sense in your captions, and it'll be fine.

Thanks to everyone for the awesome entries! What an awesome turnout for the kickoff round! I hope that everyone learned what a challenge it is, and gained experience for future rounds.


Here are the results:



Honorable Mention: 42 chocolate

-Creative use of blind spots in the picture, and good characterization, but the caption was a tad too long for this rather quick scene. Great work, though!

Third Place: Joeypals!!

-While the quote itself didn't quite have a punchline, the beauty here lies in how well it worked with the picture. Ash is surprised, and Pikachu angry, which is clearly represented in your caption. Nice job!

Second Place: sonicyellow

-Excellent use of ambiguities in the picture, and of course, this is something that a Pikachu just might wonder. I should only say that Pikachu does look angry in this picture, and your caption portrays a different emotion; so it was just almost there!

WINNER: RisuX

-This was nearly perfect! It has excellent use of blind spots, delivers a good, fast punchline, comes close to the edge but doesn't, and flows with the picture so well. The emotions are perfectly portrayed. Great job!
