The first one on the site?

Rules for a standard Wedlocke can be found here.
There will be a few edits to the rules, as we see here:

1) This is Colosseum. We know that wild Pokemon encounters aren't actually a thing. Therefor I have decided to omit that rule altogether. If I find an eligible Shadow Pokemon, I'll be catching it, regardless of how many I have seen in that particular city/town/place.
-That doesn't mean there aren't any restrictions. As per the rules, I cannot catch a Pokemon if it has an unknown gender, and if my team isn't full, I cannot catch a Pokemon that would make it unbalanced gender-wise at 1, 3, and 5 slots filled.
-I am allowing resets in the beginning if Pokemon are of the wrong gender for my team. There are too few Pokemon in the game to be skipping them, and too many will be lost to not have extra. I am NOT allowing resets just to save something from dying.
2) After I fill my team, I will begin placing Pokemon in boxes based on gender. When a Pokemon from a pair faints and must be replaced, I will use the next Pokemon in the box, being unable to choose further than that ask the audience who they think should be chosen as a replacement out of the eligible Pokemon.
3) Pokemon may only battle with their partner. According to standard Wedlocke rules (ty IE), if a Pokemon from a pair dies in battle, it must be replaced with a Pokemon from another pair that is the same gender as the living Pokemon (to ensure that I still have a pair left after the match) or a Loner that is the same gender as the fallen Pokemon.
4) Pokemon without a partner may battle, but may not be sent out to start the battle. Only a pair of Pokemon may do that. Loner Pokemon are the only Pokemon that MUST be sent out to replace a fainted Pokemon (so long as the fainted Pokemon is of the same gender). They have priority over other paired Pokemon. The Loner sent out, if of proper gender, will replace the fallen Pokemon as the living Pokemon's partner. Loners of the wrong gender do not have priority over other paired Pokemon but may still be sent out.
5) If a Pokemon causes the death of their partner (by knocking them out with a move) they will be unable to carry on and must be released after the battle (or as soon as possible).
6) The Pokemon you start with at the beginning of the game, Umbreon and Espeon, are both male. They are not a pair, as that would go against the rules, but are simply mandatory for starting the game. This does mean, however, that the first two Pokemon I catch must be female to pair with the two of them. And of course, once I have my first pair, the leftover Eeveelution must take a back seat until I catch another eligible Pokemon to pair with them.

Interesting idea, Keeper! I look forward to this. Good luck! :D Although you won't need it with your evilness...

RE: Pokémon Colosseum Wedlocke Challenge

I was inside. The enemy knew it. Sirens were blasting all around me. I could hear their footsteps on the stairs, coming up to get me.
I saw what I came here for. The machine was just laying there... I grabbed it and put it on my arm. I escaped, followed closely by the people in the building. Hopped on my motorcycle and sped out of there...

And I woke up. I was lying in the seat of my motorcycle, my Pokemon Umbreon and Espeon sleeping in the passenger car beside me. Was it a dream? It seemed like one. But the machine I had seen was attached to my arm. Ahead of me was a little outpost, shaped similar to a train engine. I looked around, but I seemed to be in the middle of a wide desert, nothing around for miles I would guess.
I sighed, recalled my sleeping Pokemon to their Poke Balls, exited my cycle, and began to head toward the outpost. As I began to enter, two men walked out, talking loudly and laughing. Having a good time, I would expect.
"Fwahahah! We sure pigged out, eh? I love chowing down after a job. It adds to the flavor, I swear."
"Heheh, yeah. And we bagged ourselves a great big catch, too! I'm sure the boss will fix us up good after this!"
I thought nothing of it, and waited for them to get into their vehicle.
Inside the outpost, a news report was just airing. What it said startled me:
"-And the authorities have just made a stunning announcement on the building that recently exploded in Eclo Canyon. They say it the hideout of a gang known as 'Team Snagem,' a gang already marked for arrest in all of Orre. See more here, tonight, at 10. In other news-"
"Hey, boyo!"
I snapped my attention away from the television. The man working behind the counter was addressing me. For some reason, I began to feel nervous.
"Ain't ever seen yer face 'round these parts before. Travelin'? Not that it matters none. Relax, stick 'round a while."
"Umm... Thanks. But I really should be going now." If my dream was no dream, I wasn't inclined to "stick 'round a while" anywhere for the time being. I turned around and headed back outside.
"Yo, Keeper, hold up!"
I turned at the sound of my name, half expecting to see the man that had addressed me before. Instead, a strange pink-haired man came out from the outpost and stood in front of me.
"The name's PMJ-"
I stared at him quizzicly, "PMJ... From PB?"
He rolled his eyes, "No, the other PMJ."
"Oh, right."
He blinked, "Anyway, I need to have a battle with you. Just sorta says so here. So what do you say to a little match?"
"Is no an option?"
"Not really."
"Then no."

PMJ has entered #battle.
Keeper has entered #battle.
<Rider PMJ sent out Zigzagoon and Zigzagoon!>
<Go Umbreon and Espeon!>

Turn 1:
Confusion one of them for an OHKO. Bite the other for over half HP.
Zigzagoon Tail Whips Umbreon.

<Keeper> What a plan.
<PMJ> It seemed fool-proof at the time.

Turn 2:
Confusion KO.

<PMJ> Meh... What am I doing with Zigzagoon anyway?
#battle has ended.

PMJ shook his head, "Well that was pointless. Obviously since Espeon is Gen 3 OU, I didn't stand a chance."
Of course, I laughed at this comment. The match, as short as it had been, was fun! Now, I just needed to know what exactly I was doing here...
"I know!" PMJ interrupted my thoughts. "You should head out toward Phenac City, a town a ways west of here. There's a bigger competitive community out that way, they'll give you a run for your money."
"And you'll just... What? Stay here?"
"Probably. Don't have much else to do."
"Where are anyway? Orre I assume, that's what the TV said. But my memory is a little fuzzy..."
"You've played enough Pokemon to know that back-story doesn't matter! You build your team, beat the evil peoples, become champion, ect."
I climbed into my motorcycle, "Alright then, I guess that's-"
"Just follow the rules and you'll be fine."
I started the engine, "Rules? What rules?"
PMJ didn't answer, but simply waved. "Bye!"
I was now on my way toward Phenac City.

--------------------------

Once I arrived, I saw the same two men from before. Carrying their giant sack, obviously struggling with the load.
"What are you doing? Get a grip man!"
"You say that, but... It keeps squirming! Makes it hard to hold on."
A muffled voice came from the bag, "Beh! Nidnappers! Lemme ou'!"
"Dude, the tape must be coming off."
"No, really?"
Was this... a Kidnapping, I was witnessing? "Hey, you two!"
"Aww drat," The first man, a guy with a strange hair cut and ridiculous sunglasses, dropped his end of the sack and walked over. "Since you overhead us, we don't have any choice. Blame your own bad luck!"

??? has entered #battle.
Keeper has entered #battle.
<??? sent out Whismur and Whismur!>
<Go Umbreon and Espeon!>

Turn 1:
Similar to my previous match with PMJ, Confusion took one out right off the bat. Umbreon's Bite also did enough damage to take the other out in a single hit, something I definitely wasn't counting on.

<???> Gah... You're tougher than you look!
#battle has ended.

"Hey... I know you!" The second guy began calling out. "You're with Team Snagem! You're their-"
I was almost curious as to what he was saying. I was their what? What part of my memory was he going to restore? Part of me was shocked. Snagem? That team I heard of on the news? The team who's hideout I may or may not have had ahand in blowing to bits? But two townspeople came over at the commotion.
"What's going on here?"
"EEEEEEEK! Robbers! Robbers!"
The first man shook his head and pointed at the lady. "Now you listen here! We're not robbers. We're kidnappers. Understand the difference?"
The second man smacked his partner over the head, "Good going, dingbat! Let's get out of here while we can!"
They ran, shoved on past me, and fled from the town gates. The sack they were carrying before was lying on the floor. Of course I opened it.
I undid the knot, and the person inside pulled herself out. "Oh thank goodness I'm out of there! But um... Where am I? Where did those two take me?"
One of the townspeople, a young man (jogger by the looks of it), spoke up. "This is Phenac City, the opulent city of water. This person here saved you from those thugs." He pointed right at me.
"Oh, is that so? Thank you! And... You are?"
"My name is-"
"Oh, so you're named Keeper!"
"Uhh..."
"Good! My name is Rayne! I have to ask... Did those two use any... Peculiar Pokemon?"
"What exactly do you mean?" I asked. "They seemed pretty normal to me."
"Oh, that's fine then..."
The panicky lady from before stepped in, "Something seems to be on your mind. You should visit our mayor for some advice. He's very nice, and should be able to help you somehow."
Rayne turned, "They mayor? That's true! He might know something!"
She turned to me. Somehow, I expected this... "Hey Keeper. I know I might be imposing, but I don't have anybody else that I can turn to. Would you escort me for a while? I don't want to have to worry about those people anymore."
I contemplated my choices. What else was I doing anyway? "Sure, I was just on my way to see the mayor anyway." Totally true.
"Fantastic! If you're with me, it won't matter if those people come back again!"
The townsfolk pointed us in the right direction, and we made a beeline for the mayor's house. The city was... Rather deserted for such a big place. Other than the people we had just seen, there was really nobody around. And on such a beautiful day!
Once we reached the mayor's house, we were almost bumped into by some guy just exiting. He had some sort of skirt and the ugliest white hairdo, both of which kept blowing around in the light breeze.
"Ah, you must be a traveling trainer. I like what I see in your expression."
My expression... Disappointment in the human race?
"Fufufu... I have a feeling we may meet up again somewhere."
He walked off without me saying anything. Strangely though, he seemed familiar... But we were here to see the mayor, not chase after creepy people with no sense of fashion.
Inside, the mayor was sitting at his desk. Onced he noticed our arrival, he promptly walked over to welcome us.
"Hello, hello! You must be travelers! Welcome to Phenac City! I am Drohn," I sense a pattern here, "the mayor. I heard you wanted to see me, is there something that I maybe able to assist you with?"
Rayne stepped up, "Um... Er... I... I saw it!"
Drohn shook his head, "Saw what, exactly?"
"I saw a strange... No, that's not right... What I saw was a Pokemon giving off a black aura! It was like a fighting machine... And even attacked people!"
Having absolutely no idea what she was talking about, I of course nodded to pretend I knew exactly what was going on.
The mayor chuckled a bit, "Ohoho, a Pokemon like a fighting machine, eh?" Now if that were true, it would be frightening indeed. However, it is a little hard to believe..."
"But it's true! Because I saw the Pokemon, I was made prisoner of some scary men until just a little while ago."
Drohn scratched his head, "I... I see. Well, I shall order an investiagtion at once."
'You will? Thank you Mr. Mayor!"
"There is no need for thanks. We mustn't allow thugs to do just as they wish. I simply ask that you give me some time on the matter. i promise soon we will have some information for you."
Drohn turned to me, "Oh, yes, Keeper is here! A true Pokemon trainer, no doubt? If so, I encourage you to visit our stadium! Our pride and joy. Do take care!"
Obviously, that was our cue to leave, and leave we did. Whatever this... "dark-aura" thingy was, it was being taken care of. And I was itching for another match. A real match that lasted more than two turns.
As we left the mayor's house, Rayne turned to me. "Keeper, would it be alright if I came with you to the stadium? I don't really have anywhere else to go anyway."
Of course, I let her tag along, and so we were off to the stadium, a large building in the north end of town built into a waterfall. Unfortunately, the receptionist had to inform me that the current battle was underway, so we had to leave shortly after. Of course though, our story kept progressing...
Three thugs met us outside the stadium.
"There you are Keeper!"
"Does anybody in this world not know my name?"
"You no-good traitor!"
"Blowing up the base wasn't good enough for you? Had to take the snag machine too?" Another one said.
"You've got some nerve!" The third spoke up.
"Honestly fellas," I began defending myself, "I don't know what any of you are talking about."
Of course, Rayne had to interrupt and make things more difficult then they already were. "Who are these guys? Team Snagem? What what do they mean by traitor? Keeper...?"
"That's right! He's from Snagem, just like us!"
"Yeah... I doubt that. I wouldn't work somewhere where they make you wear such ridiculous outfits."
"No ordinary member either. He's what we call a Snagger. He's the best at snagging Pokemon without fail!"
Rayne looked upset, "Is it really true Keeper?"
"How many times must I say no? I have no recollection of ever being a part of Team Snagem. Didn't even know about them until today!"
"OH! You gritted your teeth, didn't you?"
"Yeah, out of annoyance."
"Then it must be true!"

"Alright Keeper, hand it over! Give us back the Snag Machine!"
"Snag Machine?" Rayne asked. "Keeper, do you really have something like that?"
"I'm so done answering you right now, Rayne."
"But I get it now... That's why these creeps are after you."
"Hey... What do you mean, 'creeps'?" One of the grunts looked disheartened.
"Gah," another said, "This is getting us nowhere. If you won't give it up, we'll take it by force!"

Creep has entered #battle.
Keeper has entered #battle.
<Creep sent out Corphish and Koffing!>
<Go Umbreon and Espeon!>

<Creep> Why is my name set to "Creep"?
<Keeper> Wynaut?

Turn 1:
Confusion Koffing for the OHKO. Espeon is certainly the powerhouse this game. Bite on Corphish brought it to yellow.
Corphish used Tackle on Espeon for 14 damage.

Turn 2:
To save Espeon's PP, I had him use Reflect, then used Umbreon's Bite for the KO.

<Creep> Aghh... How can I not be good enough?
#battle has ended.

"Blast you Keeper, don't think this is over!" We'll get that snag machine back, just you wait and see!"
The creeps/thugs left, and Rayne turned to me once again.
"What do you know, Keeper? You really are from Snagem! Or, former, at least."
"Listen, lady-"
"But that's ok! I don't care who you were before. After all, you're my gallant prince who rescued me when I was in trouble. Te-he~!"
Lack of words.
"So it doesn't matter! Besides, I thought up something after listening to those creeps. We need to go shopping!"
"Your plan is... To go shopping?"
"Yes, for Poke Balls! Now let's go!"
With a sigh, I realized I had little choice. But, of course, the local store didn't actually carry any of the product I was looking for. Why? I don't know. But an old man in the store mentioned something about an outpost that used to sell Poke Balls. I figured that was as good a lead as any.

--------------------------

Outside stood PMJ, but I passed by for the time being. Apparently, I needed Poke Balls.
The man behind the counter turned as we walked in. Then I remembered, he was the one trying to get me to stay before... Was he just being friendly? Or was he trying to keep me here for Snagem to find again?
"Listen 'ere pal. If yer plannin' ta travel, ya migh' wanna stock up on supplies here."
"Hi, can I ask you, do you sell any Poke Balls here?" Rayne asked.
"Poke Balls? There's no call for them things 'round these parts... Where'd I put them...?"
He rummaged around a bit and pulled out a box. "Yeah, 'ere they be! A little dusty, sure, but usable all the same. Take some! On the house!"
He handed me a set of 5 Poke Balls, which I placed on my belt. "Thank you, sir."
"Think nothin' of it. May as well add these to the rest of the merchandise. If you ever find yerself needin' more, just stop on by."
We left, I was still a little wary of this place... Too remote for my liking. But, not knowing what else to do, I stopped to see what PMJ had to say.
"Hello."
"Yo. I was worried about you! Some shady lookin' fellas came by asking about you. Called themselves Team Snagem."
"Okay... Got anything else for me?"
"No, not really. Good luck out there!"
So we had little choice but to head back to Phenac City.

--------------------------

The panicky lady from before greeted our entrance with a friendly "Oh! It's you two! Something terrible is happening! A lot of scary men just showed up!"
"Which direction?"
She stared at me blankly, "...What do you mean?"
"You said a lot of scary men just showed up?"
"I did?"
"...Forget it."
So I checked the stadium, where I had last run into Snagem, the other stadium/gym thing in the middle of town, and finally the mayor's office. Lo and behold that's where they were. The two guys from before, three guys in color-coded outfits, and a yellow-clad disco guy in the middle.
The two guys that had Rayne in a sack pointed as we walked in, "Master Scorched Feathers! It's him! The one that stole the girl from us!"
Feathers turned around. Sporting a giant Poke Ball-like afro, a yellow jumpsuit, and the most ridiculous pair of shades I had ever seen, he was the very image of a... Banana?
"Ohohoh, you two. You mean to tell me you were bested by Keeper? Listen here, I don't like saying this, but we're not at liberty to keep your lady friend at liberty, understand? She can see things... Things that people aren't supposed to see, that ordinary people can't see? And it just won't do for the things we're planning to do... No no no. If you don't like pain, like most people, then I strongly suggest you stay out of our business.
"Boys! I shall make my return to Pyrite now. Do remember that I shall be awaiting your return with this young lady here."
"Yes boss!"
"And awaaaaaay we go! Good bye, Keeper!"
Feathers left with the three color-clad minions. Shortly after, the guy from before with the Whismur stepped forward.
"Now I can get my revenge!"

??? has entered #battle.
Keeper has entered #battle.
<??? sent out Lotad and Whismur!>
<Go Umbreon and Espeon!>

Turn 1:
Confusion Lotad... Didn't KO. Ah well. Neither did Bite on Whismur.
Lotad and Whismur both ganged up on Espy, can't blame them. But Absorb and Astonish still left Espeon in the green.

Turn 2:
Confusion KO Lotad. Bite KO Whismur. #simple

<???> Blast it, not again!
#battle has ended.

"Pfffft, step aside bbninjas. Let a pro handle this. I, Vom, declare war upon-"
"Psst, Vom, wrong game." Bbninjas pointed out.

Vom has entered #battle.
Keeper has entered #battle.
<Vom sent out Spinarak and Duskull!>
<Go Umbreon and Espeon!>

Turn 1:
Confusion KO Spinarak. Bite not quite a KO on Duskull. That's ok though, he flinched.

<Vom sent out Makuhita>
<Rayne> ...OH! Keeper! That one! It has a black aura!
<Rayne> They captured me because I can see it!
<Rayne> Be careful! It isn't afraid to attack humans.
<Rayne> You'll have to catch it, it's the only way!

Turn 2:
Confusion Duskull for the KO. Bite Makuhita to wittle down the HP.
Makuhita used Vital Throw on Espeon for not a lot.

Turn 3:
Espy set up Reflect, and Umbre used Bite again.
Vital Throw brought Umbreon down about 40 points.

Turn 4:
Actually went for the Heling Hand with Espeon, but Bite still wasn't doing a ton.
Makuhita used Cross Chop on Espeon... Critical hit KO.
.......okay.jpg
As much as I love Espeon in this run, I kind of knew that both Eeveelutions wouldn't make it far. I guess this makes choosing who to pair Makuhita (female btw) with that much easier, eh?

So here I was, down to Dark vs Fighting, Umbreon just in green and Maku just in yellow... I threw a Poke Ball. Honestly was a bit scared, this could be the end of the run already!
...
...
...
Woooo! Got that one!

#battle has ended.

"Dang you're good! You snagged my Pokemon!"
"What on earth are you saying?" Ninjas exclamed, "You're not supposed to be impressed! What're we to do now? The boss'll surely chew us out for this..."
Vom turned, "What are we to do? What is there to do?! WE RUN!"
And they did, right out the door.
Rayne started jumping for joy. "You did it Keeper! You snagged that Pokemon! But I'm sure there are others like it... Let's get them all back from the bad guys!"
As sad as that was to get through, I had no healing or switching options, so I can't say it was my fault. At least now I can start building a team and move on.

Poll time! Before I leave Phenac City, there are three trainers. I can only face one of them. These trainers have shadow Bayleef, Croconaw, and Quilava, respectively. Which one should I choose to go after? I'll probably work on the next update this weekend, so we'll see if there's a winner by then (if not, I'll just randomize it).

RE: Pokémon Colosseum Wedlocke Challenge

I, Princess Vom, shall have a revenge! >: O
##REK: Quilava

Btw you wrote the wrong Pokémon in our battle :p

RE: Pokémon Colosseum Wedlocke Challenge - Chapter 1

>.>

So unlucky to lose Espeon so early on. In Colosseum it is simply amazing. (Fun fact: Espeon in Colosseum is the reason for my username containing Espeon (Ice? I can't rememberrr...))

As for the starter, as much as I love Quilava I'm not going to vote for it simply due to the huge amount of water and ground types moves there to screw you over in Colosseum, and in this game particularly I don't think you can afford to lose too many to cheap attacks. I'm going to vote for Croconaw because out of it and Bayleaf, Croconaw is more likely to take KOs and has an amazing attack in surf (in Gen III surf does not hit your partner), allowing you to rack up a lot of damage very easily.

RE: Pokémon Colosseum Wedlocke Challenge - Chapter 1

I know nothing about Colosseum, but it's good to see more cool LPs posted. :3

RE: Pokémon Colosseum Wedlocke Challenge - Chapter 1

>Snagem

ahhahahahaha this game.

Colosseum is dope, man, glad to see it getting some more love. Go for Bayleef for hard mode.

RE: Pokémon Colosseum Wedlocke Challenge - Chapter 1

[7:18:52 PM] Keeper of Night: go vote croconaw in my run so I don't have to put up with quilava
[7:19:00 PM] Cris - bbninjas: o.0
[7:19:02 PM] Cris - bbninjas: Sure
[7:19:14 PM] Keeper of Night: or bay
[7:19:16 PM] Keeper of Night: idc
[7:19:20 PM] Keeper of Night: just no fire rodents
[7:19:22 PM] Cris - bbninjas: xD

##MINIONVOTE: Croconaw

RE: Pokémon Colosseum Wedlocke Challenge - Chapter 1

##Bayleef because best starter.

RE: Pokémon Colosseum Wedlocke Challenge - Chapter 1

Croconaw is the most effective in Colo, but Bayleef is probably more fun. This is going to be a really fun challenge, because I'm a little bit obsessed with Colo (it's scary, really) and know everything about it.

Anyway, I genuinely prefer playing with Bayleef, so I'm voting ##Bayleef. It'll be more fun for you that way.

RE: Pokémon Colosseum Wedlocke Challenge - Chapter 1

Keeper, you're going to use a Quilava and you're going to like it.

RE: Pokémon Colosseum Wedlocke Challenge - Chapter 1

Bayleef is still close enough to make a comeback, especially when you realize that my vote is worth 3.

RE: Pokémon Colosseum Wedlocke Challenge - Chapter 1

Looking great so far, can't wait to read more! ##CHOOSE: Croconaw

RE: Pokémon Colosseum Wedlocke Challenge - Chapter 1

Oh, I'm extremely late. Dx

Lesgo, Quilava!

RE: Pokémon Colosseum Wedlocke Challenge - Chapter 1

Tempted to give Athena the three votes. >.>
Update coming tomorrow with the addition of a hot-headed rodent.
