Well, I think it'd probably want to play more than Portal 1. Could this play Portal 2 and TF2? And a video card isn't an issue, I assumed I would be buying one for this.
 
I bought the most recent MacBook Pro with Retina display in July, only to have problems with the external speakers. I get random static when listening to music on iTunes and it won't go away. When I plug in my headphones, there isn't a problem, however. What's going on?

Does it happen with anything other than iTunes? If so, I'd wager you somehow blew out your speakers... somehow.
