Honestly, I'm glad we have another "Derp around" area. But it does attract younger members that spam the place with spam. I'm not yet sure where I stand on the situation.
 
I think it's already improved greatly since its first few days, I don't see any indication that this forum is anything but positive.

Takes spam out of the rest of the forums, it's fun, there's already a community developing in it, it's great.
 
What most people aren't getting, I think, is that this forum is not a spam forum.

What it is, however, is a place for all the favorite threads to go. You still need to have legit topics and stay on topic in those discussions, but the rules are more relaxed regarding how much content you have to put in your posts. It doesn't contribute to your post count, so maybe people think that gives them the right to spam, just because I said you can post just about any topic you like.

Astute users will know I deleted The Sadness Zone. I was expected to be bombarded by stupid/troll threads, so I created TSZ to store them... but none were made. Not once since the forum's creation. Everyone's been pretty good about being on topic, and some discussions have risen out of the broader topics. It's been doing nothing but improving since the first couple days, and that's cool.

Keep it up, everypony.
 
...You had me up until "everypony". Now I have this incredibly strong urge to go on a rampage.

How about popcorn thread, favorite way to nuke the forum, posts about pornstars, etc.

You don't even know what was planned to be posted.

Those posts about Popcorn and Pornstars (made by the same guy! wow!) were bad attempts at spamming up a good idea for a favorites forum, and they were dealt with accordingly. Those are the only examples of troll threads/posts I've seen so far. While you may not agree that Ferrets or Frogs are interesting topics, some people think they are, and have every right to make a thread about them, as long as they don't go overboard and deliberately start posting spam/stupid stuff. I'm already impressed on how well this forum is working, despite my previous opinion on it, and if everybody gives this idea a shot, I'm sure you'll feel the same way.

Even though that might have been the original intent of the thread, there's still some type of discussion going on in them. Those threads will eventually die off anyways, since the discussion value of Frogs or whatever is pretty low, in my opinion. Threads like Your Favorite Video Game/Movie/Book/Music are what I feel this forum is mostly aiming for.

And if you "hate" the Happy Area (really need to work on that name) so much, then why let it bother you? Just ignore the forum altogether, no one's forcing you to read or post in the threads.
 
Again, go with 'Happy Land'

And yeah im not sure why there is any reason to complain about happyville. If you dont like it, grow up and ignore it. What's done is done.

Clearly, we should go with "Happy Land" or "Flyffel."
 
Joking aside, something plain like "Favorite Zone" or "Favorite Threads" would work.

I personally would like "Dream World", but we stopped naming forums after locations in the games, so meh.
