I would choose the 1st one. I see the difference now!!!!
Though I would invis. the border by 20/30% to make it work better by blending with the background.

Well I like the animations. But my only problem is the border. It should be Textured So that it matches the "feel" of the banner. Because look at the banner it is "rough" looking, so thus the banner being smooth makes it stick out without a Texture to it.
