Seriously, it will be an extremely large post just explaining it all. Go out there, download PO, and actually play. After a few matches, you will learn a bit about how the metagame works.

It's impossible to tell a person everything there is to know about a certain, or even 10%. The best way like TDL said is to just throw together a team and start playing. You won't do to great at the start, but it's the best way to learn. The more you play, the more you'll learn, and the better you'll get.
