RE: Black Ops 2

It'll be a rehash with a different setting and people will go gaga over it because it's Call of Duty. That's the way the market for CoD works. Now it's Call of Duty: Really Modern Warfare Black Ops 2: The Vengeance 2.0, now with more bullets. The DLC will come from the far future allowing them the charge a premium price for something that should have been free in the first place.

Call of Duty is a cash cow. I saw innovation stop being used in the franchise a long time ago. but few cared or noticed since they got to basically do all the shooting and multiplayer stuff they enjoyed, and that's all the core demograph is concerned with: shooting each other. I am surprised at how it swept the rug out from under Halo, though, but all you really need to do to impress a core audience on a console is to have a lot of guns and bullets and movin' around. War is big entertainment to folks, which is strange considering how long we've been involved in armed conflict the past 11 years or so. People really rustle themselves up over this sort of thing.

RE: Black Ops 2

I watched the trailer and I dont really like this one for some reason so I think I am going to skip this game

U mad bro? You seem to be mad/depressed about every single topic that pops up.

Okay, now that that's out of the way...I'm liking the look of this. Yeah it's in the future, and all the explosions and bullets don't make it seem very covert and stealthy like the original Black Ops was. But come on...

HORSEBACK RIDING
ROBOTS
HACKED ROBOTS
DRIVABLE VEHICLES
CHOICE-BASED CAMPAIGN
ZOMBIES CONFIRMED FOR RETURNING
WOODS IS ALIVE
MASON'S SON

I'll put it into the simplest terms.

WAR ON TECHNOLOGY (WITH ZOMBIES)

I've been a Call of Duty fan since Call of Duty 4. Modern Warfare 2-3 were decent (I agree that it almost seemed rushed and more like MW2 than a new game), but Black Ops is my favorite of the series after CoD4. And I'm seeing a much more positive reaction than that of the MW3 reveal.

I'm looking forward to this.

No, my jimmies are unrustled. I'm just a critic. I've played most FPS games since Wolfenstien 3D, so I always keep my eyes peeled and, unfortunately, my mind open.

That's the point, they're trying to innovate with this new setting and supposed new focus on team play rather than lone wolfing.

RE: Black Ops 2

Black Ops came under a lot of fire for deviating from the course MW2, but it grew on me after a while, and I think it's one of my favorites so far. I think that the campaign will certainly need some work, and after the trailer (HORSES AND AT-ATS?) Treyarch has a lot of work ahead of them. I hope it's good, and if it's not, then it won't be a huge deal. Here's hoping for moar space zombies.

RE: Black Ops 2

Call of Duty Black Ops 2? I think what they meant was Call of Duty: Future Warfare. It seems as if they are running out of ideas, eh? Why not remake some of the earlier titles, like 1 or 2?

Do you mean remakes of 1 and 2 or games in the WW2 setting again?

But i do agree with you,I don't know why it's titled Black ops 2 when it doesn't really have much in common with the original.

You should do your research >:[

(storyline spoilers)

-the game takes place during the Second Cold War; a "war" with China over rare, precious elements (diamond, gold, silver, etc.)
-the main part of the game (obviously) takes place several years after the events of Black Ops
-the main character is named David Mason, the son of Alex Mason from Black Ops
-Black Ops 2 will take place during two time periods; the 1980s and 2025
-in the 1980s (about 1/3 of the campaign), the player will once again play as Alex Mason, and the missions will involve discovering Woods and learning about the main villain's origins
-back in the future, the parts that we saw in the trailer are part of just a few missions; David is sent to Los Angeles in a mission to rescue the President from the ongoing attacks

(and now for some unrelated information)

Black Ops II will be the first Call of Duty video game to feature branching storylines, in which the player's choice affects both the current mission and in turn, the overall course of the story. The game will feature special 'Strike Force' missions that are offered as a choice to the player during the campaign. Choosing one of the missions locks out the others unless the player begins a fresh campaign.

Strike Force missions allow the player to control a number of different war assets, such as unmanned aerial vehicles, jet fighters and robots. If the player dies in a Strike Force mission, the campaign continues recording that loss, as opposed to letting the player load a previously saved checkpoint. The player's progress in the Strike Force missions may go on to change even the plans of the story's antagonist, Raul Menendez. By the end of the game, the player may have changed the results of the new Cold War, and the player will be shown what could have gone differently.

Zombies will also be returning, and unlike previous Treyarch games where it was simply a bonus mode, Zombies will now have its own individual campaign. A unique campaign was originally planned to be put into Black Ops, but was cut due to time restraints. Treyarch just decided to make a story using DLC maps.

RE: Black Ops 2

I'm a bit iffy on getting BO2.I feel like the series has been lacking that thing that makes you keep playing the whole time it's the current COD like MW2 and its predecessors. Black Ops and MW3 got bored for me after the first 2 months. So I don't think I'll be getting it.

This part intrest me,I don't know if you have seen the poster for Black Ops 2 yet but on the back is this girl. There is a lot speculation on who this girl is and what she has to do with the campaign or zombies. What does everyone here think about it?I do want to believe it's for zombies but there isn't any girls in the zombie story except Samantha(Who is still a little kid)and Sarah Michelle Gellar who was just a guest star.

RE: Black Ops 2

New trailer released, shows some minor things on zombies(including there being only 1 map at launch :().

RE: Black Ops 2

Now I don't want to diss the devs, but really this is just OTT, it's like all they did was create a game with how many explosions? I'll pass unless it is actually good.

RE: Black Ops 2

New trailer reveals more about the story of the game and shows us the main antagonist.Raul Menendez. Also mentioned in the trailer is that David Goyer,co-writer for The Dark Night Rises and Trent Reznor(Famous composer) will take part in the games development.

I lol'd.

Most CoD stuff is exactly the same with different guns. This one looks very different than past titles, so I may consider it.

RE: Black Ops 2

Another new trailer was just released.Unfortunately, this one is more of a hype builder and doesn't really explain anything about the game. But for those of you that are interested in it,here it is.

Since when has any CoD trailer done that?

Anyways, I'm growing less interested in this game daily. MW3 already has all of the multiplayer features I could ask for, so what will this game bring to the table? Unless they totally change the direction of CoD multiplayer, or at least add some new leveling system, I doubt I'll be getting this one. There are far better upcoming games to worry about.

Alright, lots of new info on the multiplayer.Since some people like to be surprised,I have put an analysis in a spoiler tag.
Alright,so first things first,create-a-class is completely reworked with a new point allocation system. So instead of having your standard Primary,Secondary, grenades, kill streaks, and 3 perks. You can now choose things that are important and emphasize on those things. This is noticeable in the trailer when you see some players with more or less perks. No kill streaks, two primaries(this replaces the overkill perk) and one guy that has nothing but a pistol and knife.

Returning things:
Attack dogs(Yay)
Riot shields(although now deployable and having the ability to shoot through them.)
Tomahawk
Unscoped sniper rifles
Customizable emblems
The dolphin dive
Automatic shotguns(a little obvious but I will still put it here)
Some guns and equipment(just common things in all Call of duty games)
Nuketown(As a preorder bonus)

New things:
Lots of kill streaks(Quadrotors, improved assault drones(A.G.R),suicide aerial drones?,and escort drones)
The 'Guardian' turret that stuns enemies. This may or may not be a kill streak.
Wrist grenade launchers
Multi-team deathmatch
X-ray sights(this may or may not be a kill streak)
Laser sight
Perks are no longer put into tiers
Aerial kill streaks now crash onto the map when shot down.
The knife is now an equipable weapon

And finally,Activision has pulled the plug on COD XP this year.Saying that it might return in the future.

RE: Black Ops 2-Multiplayer reveal

Black ops 2 will have a multiplayer event at Gamescom on August 13-15.I don't really expect any of you to go though, unless you feel like taking a trip to Germany.
