I wouldn't like of this change. User's type has more influence than its ability. Making Charizard Fire/Dragon, for example, would take it out of the UU tier up to the OU. A Pokémon with a innovated type plus a hidden ability would be rather abuse and consequently banned in Uber tier.

I don't consider they're the same. Red is the protagonist of Kanto version, and Ash is the hero of the anime. Red is intendend to stay in a cavern for a long, as long as Ash is travelling around the world to become the greatest Pokémon trainer. Ash has already left Squirtle and his Bulbasaur...

Gogoat doesn't seem to have another evolutionary stage, like Torkoal. Helioptile is likely to evolve into a more ferocious dinossaur (or reptile). About the starters, I'm hoping that their secondary types will be fighting, psychic and dark.

Sylveon's type is light pink, a color that wasn't used so far. Psychic-type has been set with pink, not light pink. That's why I have ever believed that its light pink type was the clue of a new type and as it was announced, the new fairy type.
