I don't think they thought the mechanic through. You don't have to reveal prize cards to your opponent so there's too much room for cheating.
Say I drew a dream ball. I could take a prize card, shuffle my hand, and then play the dream ball. You have no proof that I just cheated.
God this is upsetting. I don't understand how they balance this game. If every deck has to think about a single match-up to assess whether or not it's viable, you're doing it wrong.

It's more of a personal preference I suppose. While running mega decks I find there are times when spirit links don't come when you want them and mega turbos don't apply. If i had both, I'd elixir, evolve, then turbo.
I run a very similar bench for a Ho-Oh EX deck. Personally, I found the Super Scoops to be a little unreliable when it was my sole source of energy acceleration. I swapped out my Scoops for max elixirs and had way more success. In your case you may even get a mix of elixirs and mega turbos.
