Hello,

I'm fairly new to Pokemon TCG.
I pulled a Zoroark from a booster pack. Seems like a cool Pokemon to have.
Looking at his move 'Foul Play' I was hoping someone could help me out.

1. If Zoroark is up against Zekrom and uses 'Bolt Strike', does Zoroark take the 40 damage as well?

2. If Zoroark is up against Reshiram and uses 'Blue Flare', does he discard the 2 energies attached to him even if it's not fire?

I guess what I'm trying to ask is if Zoroark's Foul Play uses the main ability regardless of the energy requirement and ignores the fine print of the attack?

Thanks for your help!

1) Yes. It takes damage.
2) It only discards energy if it has {r} energy attached. If it has no {r} attached, no energy will be discarded.

For future reference, you can use the rulings forum for questions about... well, card rulings.
