After watching the first season of The Walking Dead, I am wreck. I have trouble sleeping at night, and I am scared. As a 12 year old, this just SUCKS. I need help, and my parents won't do poop.

Huh, no answers yet?

I actually tried to post a few days ago but the site stopped responding on me. =P

So if it is still bothering you badly, you may need to see help from a trusted adult. If this is more a matter of what I often due to myself (watching something I think I can handle but then I can't handle it), I recommend finding some soothing music to play at a volume you can just barely here when you're perfectly quiet in your room. May not help you, but for me it tends to mask random household noises that occur every night but which register as "Zombies!" when my brain is half shut down.

That would be another thing as well; unless it is bothering you during the day, if it is only when it is time to rest try to make sure you are turning in before you are extremely tired. If my old High School Health teacher is to be believed, you actually are supposed to go to bed with some reserves left instead of when you're nearly ready to pass out. When I wait until sometime after midnight and when I'm clearly starting to fall asleep doing whatever it is I am doing, that is when I easily spook myself as my imagination starts playing with whatever I can see from the corner of my vision... so unlike tonight (s'after 1 AM here) I try to turn in before I get anywhere near that point.

Oh yeah, and avoid reminding yourself of whatever is bothering you. Memories tend to fade so while it is pretty obvious, don't watch any similar content and try to watch more relaxing or fun shows so that your mind doesn't "go there". Or if it does start to think about zombies it does so at the same time you're thinking about finding the One Piece so you instantly shift to something a bit more lighthearted.

Hope that helps!
