Pokemon Your Favourite Villainous Team

This thread discusses player's favourite villainous teams. You must explain why you like that particular villainous team. So, to start off:

My favourite villainous team would be Team Aqua. Quite ironic really - I basically fear deep water as I cannot swim! But I really like the costumes/clothing of the new Team Aqua members, they reside in my favourite region, they are the main team in my favourite Pokemon game and are pursue one of my favourite legendaries! My second favourite would be Team Magma, for similar reasons.

My favorite team is Team Galactic. For me, they have the best motive of all villanous teams, and the best setup for legendaries to appear!

TEAM ROCKET! :D

Ever since watching James, Jessie and Meowth debut in the anime that I was attracted to the organization. The anime's plot wasn't what made me keep liking them (until the first half of Unova's season which was very good regarding TR and also those Chronicles episodes with Hun and Attila and the Prof.) but rather the games plot, namely in LG and HG. I like their black suits, their constant research and testing and they also have on their side the nostalgia factor.

I don't exactly see Aqua and Magma as evil (going just by R/S/E, not ASOR), just blindfolded and misguided, because even the grunts are aware and want more landmass or sea for Pokémon.

Team Galactic...ridiculous outfits and an organization that exists solely for the leader's mad & unkown goals. Sure, they are accomplished, they managed to illude the public with their research for new types of (clean?) energy and their Platinum HQ was awesome but in the end, Charon was just like Colress (the other way around since Cheren came first) in that the team wasn't the most important, just his research, and the others were all blinded or in love with Cyrus. The best thing they did was to capture the annoying emotion trio. :p

I also don't consider Team Plasma evil because despite being all Ghetsis' puppets, I agree almost completely with their original goals and they managed to exist even after what happened in BW.

As for the "Neo" Team Plasma, they're indeed evil and despite liking their outfits, their ship doesn't seem to have a link to the team and Ghetsis' cane resembling a ships' wheel also doesn't fit. More importantly, they're are just Team Rocket with a legendary Pokémon in their hands, which I recognize is a step further from TR, but in the end, Ghetsis ended up insane or something and the Team was left with almost no future, and that's why their are my second favorite team, because unlike N.T.Plasma, TR is never truly done and finished.

Oh yeah, I was forgeting those ridiculous guys from Flare. Well, ridiculous is ridiculous and I cannot even describe them further because they are the lowest of the lowest when it comes to evil teams. They also don't gain nothing from debuting in a game considered easy and with such few Pokémon. Also, of course I wouldn't like a Team associated with Fire.

Team Rocket is perhaps what best fits the image of an "evil" team. They're basically the mafia of the Pokemon world, seeing by their outfits, Pokemon (they are the first team, but they're also the ones who are mostly fitting to Dark and Poison types), leader, methods (owning casinos, taking over radio stations) and goals (make money, more or less). However, what is actually bad about it is the fact that the grunts aren't really fitting-they are overly attached to Giovanni. They were ready to go to extremes in order to bring him back, as seen in HGSS and the Pokemon manga (although there Archer takes initiative). This normally wouldn't be bad, except it doesn't fit the rest of the team's style well.

Team Aqua and Magma are great when it comes to action, but lack when it comes to goals. The grunts have the ridiculous idea that they need to expand the land/sea while Archie and Maxie are more power-hungry, but in the end they really have no idea what they're dealing with (as seen in both the game and the manga). It's a pity, since they really try mutliple ways to succeed (taking over museums, institutes, submarines, meteors-you name it, they do it).

Team Galactic are my personal favorites, though admittedly the reason is Cyrus. It's nearly a team of robots, as the members seem almost brainwashed and automated. However, Cyrus himself is cunning, intelligent and insane, making for a character remarkably complex compared to the average of Pokemon characters. His efforts and knowledge are amazing, and while his goals may be questionable, he stays true to them-they aren't a mask hiding his real intentions. Charon might be a dark stain to it, but he really isn't that much of a threat or influence before Cyrus' defeat and I consider him different than Galactic.

Team Plasma have terrible outfits, a noble cause, a cut-off "King" and a malicious leader. Overall, not a bad combo, except they are really the furthest from an evil team up until now... I can't really look at them this way. Ghetsis' Neo Team Plasma is better in that aspect, but otherwise they're a bad copy of Rocket, with a boat and Kyurem.

Flare is Galactic-except their outfits are much worse, the members being arrogant, rich "fashion" addicts is worse than being robotic and Lysandre is simply lacking compared to the marvel of Cyrus. He is redeemed in his last show of madness, attempting to bury/immortalize you, but it's not enough to save his otherwise sorry team from the dump.

1. Team Aqua
2. Team Plasma
3. Team Magma
4. Team Rocket
5. Team Flare
6. Team Galactic

I like Team Aqua's designs, especially their new ones in ORAS. They're after Kyogre, my favorite of the weather trio, since rain is my favorite weather condition and Kyogre has my favorite design of the three.

Ghetsis was very well written as an antagonist, I think. He was completely insane, and his plans were very thorough. I like them better in B2W2 for outfit-related reasons. Neo Team Plasma have awesome outfits. In BW, the grunts make me think "civilian in a MMORPG" and I just don't like the colors of Ghetsis' BW robes. I wish the Sages and Anthea and Concordia got more screen time (the only one who actually does anything noteworthy is Zinzolin), but I understand that would've been a lot of characters to juggle.

I have nothing much to say about Team Magma. I just like the ORAS designs for Tabitha and Courtney. Before ORAS, I probably would've put them below Team Rocket. In the original RSE, they felt tasteless. Not tasteless as in "these people have no class/tact!" but tasteless as in "this food tastes like the solidified concept of nothing".

Beating Team Rocket members makes me feel satisfied, for some reason. I also like their black suits, and the Pokemon they use are very fitting for criminals.

Team Galactic members were dumb, joining this organization despite not even knowing what their leader's goals were. Cyrus was kind of well-written I guess (he perfectly embodies a charismatic cult leader) but he's one of those misanthropes that constantly rants about how terrible humanity is, and I find those people and their belief system extremely irritating. I don't like the bowl cut hairstyle of the grunts, nor do I like Jupiter or Saturn's hairstyle. I do like Mars' hair and outfit, but she seems like the kind of person that gets jealous easily and holds grudges over trivial things. Cyrus's hair makes him look like a human paintbrush.

Lysandre is kind of like a worse-written Cyrus. He has the same core trait of being a misanthrope that never shuts up about why they think humanity is awful. And he's even more annoying with it than Cyrus. He's completely open about it in public, too. Seriously, how did Professor Sycamore listen to his speeches without thinking that maybe someone should keep an eye on him so he doesn't do anything dangerous? Most of the dialogue for the Team Flare grunts is about how stylish their suits are. Those are stylish suits, but it's like they're completely oblivious of everything about their organization and the only reason they're even there is so they can wear those clothes. Lysandre looks like a fusion between or child of Pennywise and Ganondorf. The only reasons I put them above Team Galactic are 1) I thought Xerosic's character development in the Looker Bureau sidequest was nice, 2) I really like the designs of the scientists, especially the sunglasses on the female ones, and 3) most of Team Galactic's hairstyles.

My favorite evil team are team neo plasma from the following reasons:

1. Regular team Plasma members have a great story and awesome boss but horrible outfits. Neo team Plasma fix that with much cooler outfit and overall better design.

2. The characters. N is one of the best characters in the Pokemon game history because of his unusual role in the games that you can't put your finger on it. He is not the evil boss. He is not evil. He is not your typical main rival and he is not a kind buddy to talk about how Pokemon are great like XY friends. The Shadow triad are amazing as you finally get to battle these cool ninjas you have seen in BW story. Colress is very interesting character full of mystery and the part when you get to challange him at the PWT really made the story much more interesting.

3.Battle Music- The remix they did to the battle music from BW is so great.I love it and wish I could battle with this battle music all the time in wifi battles in XY and future games.

4. Ice beam shooting levitating ship. Don't think I really need to explain here much besides I felt like an excited little boy when they did the cut scene in Opelucid city.

My favourite Teams. Now that's hard. I love every team (yes, even Team Flare), but I guess my favourites would have to be Team Rocket and Team Plasma.

-Team Rocket: Team Rocket is a very evil organisation, the one I consider the most evil and cruel. They kidnap Pokemon, take over buildings, wreak havoc, and do things other petty criminals would do all for the sake of money. However, I especially love them in Pokemon Adventures Manga! They have a deep story and amazing plot development in the stories. Also, their reasons for their actions are very reasonable. For example, Team Rocket terrorised Kanto in the first chapter (I think, I'm still ordering the first two so I don't really know what they did) for money, something people do today a bit commonly. Also, Giovanni wanted Deoxys to find his son, Silver (which brought me closer to him, my favourite character!), and not just for money.

But the main reason why I love Team Rocket more was because of Silver!

-Team Plasma: I love Team Plasma because of the amazing plot development behind that team. I also love how evil Ghetsis turned out to be, manipulating his own team like that for his own selfish goals. Now that is evil. I also like how N's development turned out, because I liked N a lot, and I actually didn't want him to be evil. I also really loved all of the member's theme songs! I listen to them a lot all the time. Designs don't matter to me, I find that it is the person inside that counts, so I don't judge on appearance.

Team Rocket but for different reasons. They seemed a bit more competent than the other villain teams (with Plasma basically tying with them for competency), well in the games at least it is just that you made them seem like they were not competent. Team Rocket invaded Silph Co. and even invaded a Radio Tower (of course by the time they invade the radio tower you may or may not have one or two legendaries on your team and if you had gotten the Arceus for the ruins of Alph you may even have a legendary dragon that has been in your party basically since the beginning of your journey while you may or may not already have Zapdos by the time you raid Silph Co.)

As far as threat goes I will give that to the Team Plasma that does not side with N (I honestly think that N realizes that pokemon battles are not necessarily a bad thing)

I would also place Cipher up there with Plasma due to the Shadow Pokemon incident.

Team Aqua and Team Magma were to busy fighting each other to realize how stupid their plans would have been in the first place.

Team Galactic was not subtle at all, and by that I mean their main HQ was not. At least Team Rocket basically had a casino and a freaking gym to basically hide behind.

Team Flare . . . was not subtle at all. Team Flare literally told everyone their plans, the only thing that was partially subtle was the locations of their bases.

Team flare because everyone in it is an idiot XD. "Oh no! At this rate he'll figure out that the password is open sesame!" approximate quote from a team flare grunt in XY.

I love all of the villainous teams, but Team Rocket is definitely on top for me, mostly because of Jessie, James, and Giovanni. They also just feel more authentic and less shoehorned into the game. They've been in 4 out of 6 generations, too (all games of Gen 1 and Gen 2, FRLG in Gen 3, HGSS in Gen 4), not to mention in all the seasons of the anime, so they're the most prolific team by far. :p

One thing that made Plasma better than Rocket is that in BW, the player wouldn't make it all by himself, and it needed help from the Gym Leaders, while Team R. was always ruined by a single kid (well, Red is Red but Ethan/Gold.... ).

My favorite Teams are Team Rocket and Team Plasma. I picked them because of their memorable characters, not their goals or outfits.

Team Rocket I love mainly because of Jessie, James, and Meowth. I'm kind of mainstream in that way. :p The way they're always just being goofs and not realizing it truly burns them into my mind and heart. I'm always the one oddball in my family who memorizes their mottos from Region to Region.
But those three aren't the only ones I love. I also am a fan of Butch and Cassidy, and strangely, Dr. Zager. I loved Butch and Cassidy because they were the 'more evil versions' of James and Jessie. The fact that even villains had rivals brought me closer to them. That, and Cassidy has a Houndour. Houndour is win.
I have no idea why I like Dr. Zager. Search me, I have no clue.

And now good old Team Plasma. To keep from repeating things you've heard everywhere, I'll skip over N. :p
One of my favorites was Aldith, an anime-exclusive person. In case you don't know who she is, this is her: http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Aldith
Aldith's attitude, her spiteful remarks, and her sheer determination made her stick out in my memory, even more than Ghetsis. And she was also somewhat of a mystery. Her clothes defined her as a Grunt, but her actions and what she was appointed to do suggested that she wasn't like the other Grunts. She could command other Grunts, and was specifically assigned to oversee Colress's research. And oh my fuzzy, the way she acted towards Colress. Oh-ho, she could not stand him.
Speaking of Colress, he is probably my favorite Team Plasma character, though I can't say quite for sure. Just the way he was so sarcastic without even trying... And he didn't even care one bit about Team Plasma. He wasn't interested in helping them specifically, he just wanted the answers he was looking for. I can't figure out if he was my favorite character or not because half the time I adored him, but the other half I wanted sooo badly to just punch him in the face.
The arguments between those two were probably my favorite parts of the BW anime. Aldith was always just firing verbal attacks at him, and he was just deflecting them without even trying. Aldith clearly hated him, and I couldn't help but agree. And Colress... who knows what he thought of Aldith. The only time I saw him showing negativity towards her was one episode...I'll have to find a picture someday, the face he made is just too lol.

So those are my favorite Teams, based on their characters. :)

Team Rocket. Because they are the original and the best IMO. Giovanni is my favorite team leader and Jessie and James and Meowth made the anime enjoyable being the comic relief villains they were.

I'm not quite sure why people love Giovanni and Team Rocket. Giovanni rarely show up in the anime, never mind the VG. Team Rocket is a cool team, but the trio is a joke. They sure like to get their butt kicked and I always felt that they're not really part of Team Rocket. (Though, I was really impressed with them in Unova but it suddenly stopped and they turned back to "dumb mode" again.)

Anyway, Team Aqua are my favorite villainous team with Plasma coming second. I'll admit, if ORAS doesn't exist, Plasma would be first. I love how Ghetsis used his people and his (son?) to achieve his own personal goals--very villainous if you ask me. It is true that Team Magma and Aqua goals are a bit silly in Ruby/Sapphire but their goals are quite clear and understanding in ORAS.

I don't really like Rocket either. But in the Unova anime. That was cool. They actually had cool schemes then. And then they turned dumb again. So yeah.

Giovanni...I never liked the man but instead his Persian and the homages behind those two together and Giovanni's shadow appearence in the beggining (Inspector Gadet which I loved and one villain from 007), his power and money and his role in the games as both the Boss of TR and Gym Leader. Oh yeah, and the fancy suit (taking into account that TR looks like an Yakuza branch, the Team itself felt more Japanese and hence why it's also my favorite). I liked the obvious idiotic dreams of Meowth and Co. about what use could some Pokémon have to Giovanni but that wasn't the real Giovanni so it wasn't a thing to make like him more or less.

About the trio, they sure are a joke and were useful and capable in BW, but if not for the Pikachu fixation and the fact that destiny *coghthedamncreatorscogh* always make Ash & Co. cross their paths or the other way around, they would achieve many things and by themselves.

Team Magma would be my favorite team, out of all of them. They're a bunch of dorks in lame outfits that run around with zubats trying to increase the volume of landmass. They're even better now, after the redesign. Maxie looks awesome now.

I think Team galactic is my favorite.
They had the biggest threat, Cyrus was using gods to destroy the universe and create a new one in hi's image. He was an emotionless monster that you wanted to see taken down. I just wish we got to know more about the guy.

Team Aqua comes in second because between them and Magma i feel like Aqua's the bigger threat.

Team Aqua. I have always been a water person, and love the idea of returning to the sea. Maybe not so much as to die for it, but if we could build an underwater city like Rapture from BioShock, I'd be all for it.

Okay, time to be that one oddball.

First off...

maxresdefault.jpg

Cipher

Cipher - while not having team in the name - was a pretty damn cool organization in and of itself. Having Orre under their iron grip without letting the public know and the only reason they were stopped was by someone who betrayed them? You've gotta give them that - if Wes never decided to leave Snag'em, Cipher would be the powerhouse of the Pokemon world.

...That and their songs were really good.

Secondly...

team-dim-sun.jpg

Team Dim Sun

I haven't played all of the Ranger games, but Dim Sun was a very effective team. The facade as Altru, the amount of resources they had and the fact they took almost complete control of Darkrai... That deserves some respect.

...And by technicality!

Team_Skull_art.png

Team Skull

Because they were hilarious.

Mainstream wise, I loved Galactic's motif and secrecy, nodding to the fact that their own people didn't understand what was going on sometimes, and I also have a biased appreciation of Magma since Ruby was my first game when I was 3, so they were the first villainous team I fought again.

EDIT: Put the images into spoilers since they were biiiig.
