I searched through the forums but, could not find an answer to my question. Can you evolve two different Pokemon on the same turn, given that they had already been in play a turn of course.

Yes,as long they aren't played at the same turn unless you have BTS.
Evolving 1 Pokémon does not affect the availability of the other Pokémon. As long as all conditions are met for a specific Pokémon, it can evolve that turn, regardless of whether or not other Pokémon have evolved.
