I want to make a Dugtrio TR Deck and I've given some thought to these guys as secondary or possibly equal attackers (equal meaning playing both lines as primary)

My first thought was playing it with Victreebel TR for the stoppage in wanting to retreat (which is common in my meta)

Another thought was Forretress UD for spread damage with Spike Spread then switch back to Dugtrio with Gyro ball.

My last thought was Poliwrath UL Belted, he could do severe damage for what seems like a high retreat, but if Dugtrio is also belted w/its free retreat I could also do alot of damage.

None of the cards you mentioned work with Dugtrio. Infact the only card that would seem to work with Dugtrio is Regirock LA in conjuction with Stark Mountain to load up Dugtrio with {F} energy.

@SS I just wanted to make a fun deck, nothing competitive(I may want to in the future however). I wanted to try a deck utilizing the free retreat and another option either forcing the opponent to think twice about retreating OR using and abusing Gyro Ball on Forretress. Plus I really like Dugtrio and Sand Impact stood out on this card.

@ X_Empoleon_X I did mention how they work as a dual type deck. I havent done a dual type in a while so i thought I'd try one out. Interviwers Questions would be used in this deck since I have them a plenty so that would get my {F} Energy out. I also thought Poliwrath would make for a nice tank deck.

I have been playing with a deck that you will like, if your looking for free retreat and making you opponet think twice,

Masquerian from Supreme Victors, he acts like a shield and a Drawing machine, belt him for a 1 grass energy with 50 damage and draw 2

Raticate from undaunted, he has free reatreat and can trash their sp. energy, plus the 10x the ammount of damage they have which is a great Finisher.

I found that with free retreat you can spread around the damage they deal, and a Togikiss is an Angel that heals all.

The deack is crazy fun, masqu throws damage on about 50 with a belt, draws cards, and takes damage -20. (most pokemon have 120 right?) you free retreat back to the raticate(belted) and do 10x their damage which would =50 plus the belt =70 ... 70+50 = 120 usually a KO move. in the deck i have 4 plus powers and 4 bucks training for easier math and i dont have to rely on belts. I have gone to the bottom of my deack in every game because of Masqu and bucks drawing (BTW Togikiss keeps you alive in this case my mixing itself back into the deck i keep 1 DCE for it)

I Use Cyclone energy when they retreat or other pokemon reversal/circulater.

heres a base
4-4 masqu
4-4 raticate
1-1-1 Togikiss

4 belts
4 plus power
4 bucks training
4 poke blowers

1 Double colorless
4 Cyclone Energy
6-8 Grass Energy

If you're going for a Dual type deck then at least find a card that has some sort of synergy with Dugtrio as none of the cards you mentioned have. Poliwrath is a deck of its own. Victreebel works best with Vileplume UD and Forretress UD is a weaker version of Magnezone SF#6/Gengar AR, so Spiritomb AR and/or Shedninja would work best for a boomerang type deck.

You want to discourage your opponent from retreating? Then run Dugtrio PL as it would take up much less space than running Victreebel. Seeing as there aren't alot of things that suppport Dugtrio for a dual type deck, then you can always just cover Dugtrio's weakness (which is {W}) so maybe Manectric PL as it protects your bench from being sniped and if you chose to attack with Dugtrio PL's Magnitude your bench won't take bench (except for Manectric unless you have bench shield)
