XY Will You Nickname Your X / Y Team? What Will You Call Your Pokémon? Why?

the nicknames on my Y Mono-Fire team:
Delphox - Fokki; based on Fennekin's Jp name but with the i at the end to change it up
Blaziken - no nickname since it's event and therefore can't be nicknamed
Houndoom - no nickname since received from trade
Pyroar - Simba; no need to explain this
Charizard - Ché-Ché; ....don't ask.
 
I don't nickname my Pokémon. The only ones I've given nicknames to so far are random Pokémon that were leftover from breeding. Which usually end up beeing released or wonder traded. :)
 
Before I lost my White 2 game I had an Espeon named Colors who wrecked house a daily basis. But now she's gone... ;_;

Her new successor is now Amaterasu, the Japanese sun Goddess.

I nickname a lot of my shinies...

Female Alakazam: Bearded Lady
Male Bisharp: Deathstroke
Female Braixen: Wanda
Female Barbaracle: Barnaclehead
Female Gothorita: Lydia (from Beetlejuice)
Female Meowstic: Gem (rich snobby girl from Sabrina the Teenage Witch)
Florges: Bloom
Female Klefki: Alicia Keys
Male Pumpkaboo: Sissel (from Ghost Trick)
Male Skrelp x2: Scurvy and Mercer (named after illnesses)
Female Phantump: Carrie (named after the Stephen King story)

And I use all of these in not so competitive battles filled with ubers.

But my serious team...
My Greninja is Striker cause it looks like someone who hits hard and fast.
My Tyranitar is WrckItRalph, a reference to Wreck It Ralph
My Scizor is Crimson cause of the awesome redness
My Gardevoir is Titania, although I thought of giving this name to Florges, this is referring to the Queen of Fairies in Shin Megami Tensei
My Heracross is named Oldblue, cause Heracross comes through in almost every battle... that's not online.
My Donphan is Megabolt for he is a powerful cannon bolt. Not ball, bolt.

Im breeding a team for my Y playthrough, and so far I have a shiny Tyrunt with fang moves named Fang Banger (play on "Gang Banger" and also from True Blood <Hate that show tho>) and I have a shiny Froakie named Hanzou (legendary figure in Japanese folklore/Hanzou of the Salamander in Naruto). I also have a shiny Honedge I have yet to find a name for, as well as a nicknameless Fletchling.

Leapfrog - Greninja - He's a frog. Not a lot of other options out there!
Metalhead - Lucario - He's a steel type.
Terrorsaur - Aerodactyl (Mega) - I love puns.
Bouquet - Roserade - Going with the Rose motif (and I didn't want to use Thorn)
Topspin - Excadrill - It has Rapid Spin and will, eventually, have Drill Run

Most of my Pokemon nicknames are based off Superhero-style names, or Transformers, or somesuch.
 
Ninja Frogman is my personal Nickname for any Greninja but my Greninja's nickname is Musashi as in Miyamoto Musashi, yes I know he was a samurai and not a ninja but in White 2 I named my Oshawott Miyamoto.

No name for Xerneas yet but I think part of the scientific name of one of the Megaloceros subspecies (an extinct species of deer called the Irish Elk but was a deer rather than an Elk which are also deer but the point is the most well known subspecies was freaking huge and had a huge rack to boot and anyone who makes a bambi joke about Xerneas gets a Moonblast to the face)

Talonflame may not get a nickname because the name sounds somewhat cool itself.

Garchomp can not be nicknamed due to being redeemed via a code.

Note: These are the four that I brutally murder the Elite four and champion with, Garchomp's dig murdered Gardevoir.

As for the other two members I have not yet decided on who they will be nor have I decided on a nickname yet.

My team in X that I have given nicknames to:
Venusaur: Tygerlilli, based off the flower of the same name.
Tyrantrum: Greymon, because Tyrantrum vaguely reminds me of Greymon from Digimon. Btw, he was named Agumon as a Tyrunt.
Talonflame: Spitfire, it's a Fire/Flying type. This name is just so incredibly fitting.
Xerneas: Raava, the spirit of light and goodness from Legend of Korra.

I also have a pair of Meowstic of both genders named Eska and Desna, also characters from Legend of Korra. Both pairs are very stoic and express minimal emotion and heck, is it a stretch to say they kinda look alike?

When I get Y my predicted team nicknames will be:
Female Delphox: Trixie, because magic tricks, Psychic-type, looks like a witch/mage. Need I say more?
Blastoise: FLUDD, the water cannon from Super Mario Sunshine.
Sylveon: Bowmont, goofy play on the surname Beaumont.
Yveltal: Vaatu, the spirit of darkness and evil from Legend of Korra.

And as an added bonus, just when you thought I wasn't a big enough Korra fan, in Black 2 I named my character Korra, the rival Mako and my starter Oshawott Naga.

I named my Fennekin which is now a Delphox, Ylvis. For What Does Th Fox Say. Thought it was funny. I usually don't nickname the newest gen. I am an old lady and I want to start remembering the new ones official name. I have named Lapras's Sugar, Sweetie, Sugar pie. and such as I love Lapras and think they are sweet. I named X version Sugar <3<3. I did name the monkeys. Pansear- Hot Monkey, Pansage- Green monkey, Panpour- Wet Monkey.
In White I really wanted to name my Snivy David Bowie Constrictor because Serperior is very flashy But alas to many letters so I called him Bowie.And in that game I named my female Scizor- Sheizor.:D

Greninja - Ninja Toad (It's a ninja fast toad, duh!)
Breloom - 1-UpMushroom (Poison Heal + Toxic Orb + Spore + Substitue = A potential butt-kicking staller.)
Cofagrigus - King Ramses (Due to the amount of Courage the Cowardly Dog jokes spawned when Black and White were released.)
Alakazam - Gandalf (It's a wizard with great intelligence. It even gets a beard upon Mega Evolution!)
Gengar - Antasma (Nightmare-themed monsters that get even stronger with a new battle form.)
Flabebe - Bebe (South Park reference, but mainly because Bebe is actually French for Baby and Flabebe is a baby Fairy.)
Mawile - Wendy (Another SP reference, but a darn good one, since you should not underestimate Wendy in the actual show.)
Malamar - Skodwarde (A name given to a malicious-looking Squidward would work great with an already malicious cephalopod Pokemon.)
Houndoom - Hellhound (It's a hound from Hell! Solar Power + Sunlight = Solar Beams that Swampert and Rhyperior should be scared of.)

My nicknames are all based on "Pokegods" and other rumored Pokemon that were hidden in the gen 1 games (so is my username!). More info here: http://www.blue-reflections.net/ragecandybar/projects/pokegods/ I was always a fan of the Pokegod rumors and stuff since I was a kid and with the new Mega Evolutions for a lot of the Pokegod Pokemon in Red/Blue, it just seemed fitting. I drove myself crazy to breed for shinies of them to make them look more "god-like" as well.

Umbreon a.k.a. Lunareon - Name of the "Pokegod" Eevee was supposed to turn into which actually was based on leaked images and info on Umbreon in the next gen games (Gold/Silver).

I've named my Gliscor "Whampire", since I like Ben 10: Omniverse, but mainly as a guilty pleasure, though.

I intend to name my Walrien "Maguma". (More Kaiju homeages, yay!)
