Was Nintendo's Wii Fit a good idea?

Well, I decided with my follw up to my Mario Kart thread, I'll start a thread about Nintendo's biggest gamble since the Wii came out: Wii Fit. It's slated for release mid-May, and it incorporates a new accessory for the Wii. It's called the Balance Board. :O

Supposedly, you'll use the Balance Board to do yoga excercises, push-ups, games and more. Don't even get me started on other applications for this board. Rayman Raving Rabbids 3 will use it, and so will another May title called We Ski. The possibilities are endless, so discuss away!

I think this is a pretty cool design. Nice layout, can't wait for games to come out for this!
 
remake of 1080 avalanche is screaming for this and none of that SSX stuff.

what other games could you make for this???the sitting game:p, we stand:O, ultimate balanceXD, tap dance the game>:O.
i hope the board has good grip because what if you're really tall (like me), you bend to one side and the WUVIP you fall on your side, the board hits your friend, and thus they make an ankle strap:p

and how durable will it be??? like say i some how slide my knife across the top will cut? will it become smelly over time? what's the maxium weight limit? what if your feet sweet alot and then it slips?

i'm too scared to get this game right now i'll need to see some videos, and read some reviews.

it is a really good idea but very risky at the same time.
 
Exactly; I'm not too sure on the game either. I've seen the maximum weight somewhere. Also, what do you guys think about it helping you lose wight? Wii Sports has done a similar thing...

I really don't think it's that cool. I think it'll target parents more than kids.
 
looks good. 89.99 tho. i would much rather pay $40 less for gh aerosmith ore gh on tour
 
Yeah, $90 is major pricey for me. X_X You are getting a sophisticated piece of equipment that supposedly can carry 330 lbs of weight. (Not too shabby) In a recent issue of Nintendo Power, one writer did a two week session with the game and he actually lost some weight. We Ski got a 6.0 out of 10 though. ://

yeah. ill probably get it eventually, but when youre saving up for mlb 2k8, gh aerosmith, and an ipod nano i dont see myslef able to get it before at least february
 
Seems cool, but I wouldn't buy it right away. $90 is way too much. I sure that a year from now it'll only be $50 or less. :p
 
Lol. You guys are cheapskates. If you buy it used, the board will probably be broken or something. :/ For Guitar Hero Aerosmith, I'll just buy the game itself, but Rock Band is another story. 0_0 I'll find some way to get Wii Fit. :[

they'll probably make a bundle (hopefully before they make more colours :( )with wii fit, wii sports and the wii system for like $320 (come on price drop)o wait that means the wii fit would be a fail if it would bundle with the system for such a low priceo_O
 
Wii Fit packaged with the Wii would never happen. Wii Fit is an actual game with an accessory, not just a collection of minigame sports.

just like wii fitness on wii sports. when i did bad on my first try it said i was something like 70!
 
Who needs wii fit it's so boring.And I can't believe it called that little girl fat.Why not just get dance dance revolution hottest party.It's fun and helps your weight.
I almost forgot Before I read the entire thread I voted just move my vote.
 
Whether it's good or not, this thing is going to sell big time (indeed, it already has). I probably won't be getting it- if I need exercise then I'll do it the old fashioned way.

Seriously guys get stuff like Zak and Wiki, and Soul Bubbles. You make bacon sad. :(
 
It is a very good idea because Physical therapists are using it to treat patients a help with movement in the body. Doctors are also using it in some of their clinics to test a patients reaction and also to get a good workout. It came out about 10 days ago and runs $90.00 a pop.:)
