Wi-Fi Rep Threads?

Should we use this new Rep System instead of the current system?

I've had this idea for awhile....I know we have the SCAMMERS and Shady Battlers thread...but I think theyre should be a Wi-Fi Rep section where people can request a Rep thread.

My biggest concern is trading over Wi-Fi via "My Players" Alot of these traders are new to PokéBeach Forums, and even some that arent I have suspisions about. I would feel much better looking at their Rep's....if they have a respectable amount, I wouldnt doubt that their Shiny Deoxys is probably ligit. But if they have Bad Reps, I'll know not to trade with them. I just think that it would increase trading in the Forum, as well as create a safer trading system.

I'd like to know thoughts/comments about using the Rep system for Wi-Fi trading/battling.

So basically he's the one who can decide if we use this? Can I just PM him/MSN him about it? or does it have to go through you or someone?
 
I already PM'd him about it. :F I think this is a pretty good idea.
 
I don't understand how it's my department. All that needs to be done is a new subforum for this kinda of thing, and then allow people to make their own reputation threads. People have been pretty competent making their own My Player threads so making their own rep threads should be just as easy. (Which is what I'm doing with the trading forum these days anyway)

So um, all that needs to be done is a new subforum. Disable deletion of own threads to prevent covering up bad history, and - that should be it. I mean I can set it up if WPM's okay with it, shouldn't be too hard I guess.
 
I made a thread on this in the summer. I'm not sure if it's necessary, but if you need someone to run it, I would be willing to do it. :p
 
Well we COULD have someone run it, like how I used to do the rep forum. But I'm not entirely sure that's even necessary. Unless you ment run it in some other way.
 
It would have to be run by a mod.....because of the fact that if people made theyre own Rep threads, they could delete it if people gave them a bad rep.

I'd just like to see it happen.....dosent matter who runs it....but WPM said it was a good idea so :D Lets hope this gets set up soon.

I meant that I could run something similar to the way you run the Trad Reputation forum. I admit that it could be useful since many members don't know who's who when they trade. If they see someone has 20+ refs, then they can feel secure when trading with someone. This can also take hackers into consideration as well. No one likes to trade with a hacker.
 
Well alright KG, if WPM gives the O-K I will make the subforum and keep it hidden from everyone but mods until you have it set up well enough to open.
 
I never spell it that way, it just seemed more appropriate in the context for some reason. :[

I would love to help KG also if we did go ahead with a WI-Fi rep thread (seeing that I'm a member of the TCG trade Council).
 
They could always choose a few people to look over that...but I doubt they would....
 
There isn't quite as much to monitor for this vs. real cards, I could be wrong but we should just see how it goes for now.
 
I have a plan that will make it more substantial since trading on Wi-Fi isn't as closely guarded as sending cards through the mail. Since battling reputation are closely watched, that will be included into the system. Don't worry, I have it all mapped out.

Well I think people got a little misleaded by my idea. I meant for Wi-Fi Rep threads as far as Trading and Battling. Thats why I said Wi-Fi Rep Threads.....it would cover the whole Wi-Fi section. But its fine with me....as long as theyres SOME system implemented.

This will basically be the trade reputation system for the TCG, but with some added features that I've thought of to make this a worthwhile and useful system.
