Why was Zapmolcuno ditched?

I know it wasn't ditched per say. But why was the idea only in one arc of the manga? Surely it would have made a great plot for the games or even the anime. Would have made Giovanni look more evil, and would have made silph co. seem more advance now, considering it is a technology inventing company.
It could easily have been thrown in to the LG/FR re-makes.

Because the anime doesn't focus on Team Rocket's Kanto plot, it focuses on showing adventures through all of the regions, and what the regions would look like in a real-life comparison to the games to provide the fanbase a much better playing experience. The fans wouldn't like something like that NOT in a movie and in an episode.

What's a Zapmolcuno?

Zapdos fused with Moltres fused with Articuno. It was in the Pokemon Kanto mange and it was VERY stupid (IMO).

The reason it isn't in the game is because GF don't want their customers thinking 'WTF!?!? Mutation!?! In a Pokemon Game?!'

No, but I think that the real reason is that it could have upset older fans who liked their birds as they are. I know I do.
