What does BROKEN mean to you?

People have different perspective of it. Is it a sign of a merely good card combination? Is the signs of exploiting the inner potential of something ordinary? What does it mean to you? What does BROKEN mean to you?

look broken means so so so so powerful

B_F: Note the title of this thread. Don't try to force your opinion on others =P

Acutally, I my view broken is an extreme amount of synergy working from 2-4 Pokemon in which their abilities co-operate so flawlessly it is unbeliveable. Take Dragtrode/RockLock/BAR...

Broken is the state of the game that represents the gray area between fair play and cheating. If something is considered broken, it almost always has a negative connotation to it. Take a look at Mewtwo in RBY. It could learn Amnesia, making its special attack so high that it could OHKO anything in one hit. Because it is so powerful, it gives the user an unfair advantage. This is what it is to be considered "broken".

Depending on the severity of how broken something is, it can make the game less fun to play, or in the worst circumstances, completely unplayable whatsoever.

I've had A LOT of games in tournaments where viewers and my opponent said that Tyranitar ex is way broken. What I can't understand is if they think this way why don't they play T-Tar ex?

Oh yes...I remeber THAT well. THAT IS THE MEANING OF TRUE POWER!!!

GODZILLA: I guess they don't mean MEWTWO broken perhaps as in like SUPER POWER broken. Or mabye no one else there could play it as good as you...*wink*wink*wink*

Broken in cards is card that played corrently is unstopable or almost, this based in that all the cards have potencial to be good

To me broken means a card with mistakes on it because cards with errors should not really be used at tournaments. They should only be used for collecting.:)

I see you are talking about Neo Genesis Slowking. Well, put it this way: due to one TINY mistake on the Pokemon Power Mind Games, the whole of Unlieted is near unplayable thanks to that card Teched with 4 Sneasels in a deck that uses 8 Energy...

Slowking wasn't a fair card. I can understand a synergy of cards or a situation like RBY Mewtwo being UBER but that was a MISTAKE. And actually in 2002, in the middle of the format at Christmas, in was banned from Modifieed use. Shame it is still in Unlimeted though...

There are no cards with errors as big as Slowking. WotC just printed it wrongly even though they knew it was a typo, they didnt errata it until after it was used too much.

Broken, to me, is something that is TOO good so it makes the game unfair. There are alot of cards with errors which have erratas, but they arent broken. They simply add or change a few words around. Just look at the Compendium for erratas on wordings, there's a stack of them.

The dark grimer from the original team rocket set says poison gas and then it says the defending pokemon is now asleep and it should be POISONED.:)

I wouldn't consider Mewtwo OHKO any Ppoemon is broken because 1. IT IS THE ULTIMATE POKEMON. And 2. It is a VERY hard to catch LEGENDARY.
Just like a Lugia that used four Calm Minds and has 20 Recovers combined with Leftovers:p

Thanks Veyati..they've even asked me if they could read the card after the game(LBS players:D)!!!
