Ruling Weezing and Expert Belt

My question is if your opponet gets a prize from knocking out Weezing with the belt on. I dont think you do just because the way Weezing's poke-body says "your opponet can't take a prize if Weezing is confused" or something close to those lines. The belt says "your opponet takes one additional prize when knocking out the pokemon this is attached to." So my thought was that they get no prizes for the knock-out. I was just curious what everyone else thinks. I thought it might be fun to play something like that.

They don't, because the word 'additional' implies that they would have taken one in the first place, which they haven't, and therefore cannot trigger Expert Belt's effect.
