RE: The Pokebeach Oscars 2014

Anyone who doesn't pick Frozen for Best Animated Movie is crazy.

Anyone who doesn't pick "Let It Go" for Best Song is even crazier.

yes I liked Frozen

RE: The PokeBeach Oscars 2014

I sent my votes.

How about a Razzie Award Ceremony to go with this? Would you mind if I did that? A Razzie is like an Oscar, only its awarded to the worst of its category.

The Studio Ghibli film The Wind Rises, is far superior. Frozen is just the same rubbish Disney keep chucking out each year.

You haven't watched Frozen, have you?

It has a completely different message to Disney's previous Princess films, and almost everyone I know who has watched it, has loved it. It fits for every gender and age.

RE: The PokeBeach Oscars 2014

I have seen it, my friends dragged me to see it in the cinema the day it came out. They were laughing, I didn't get bored but it's not great.

That's your opinion if you think it's boring, but you cannot compare it to the meaning and story of past Disney movies.

Exhibit A: Above Picture

You spelled "Despicable Me 2" wrong.

Also The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug for best score. It's just phenomenal.

Past Disney films were great, the new stuff is just boring.

And of course it's my opinion, it was boring haha. It was just so cheesy and it made me cringe.

Disney don't care about their films, it's the same stuff all the time they just try and make the best profit margin they can.

I thought Despicable Me 2 was fine, but it felt too much like a sequel (yes I know that sounds like a really lame argument). It suffered from the same thing Monsters University suffered from: lack of charm.

In the first, the charm came from the children and their relationship with the "villain", Gru, and how they turned him into a good guy. In DM2, having Gru as the good guy already kind of took out the charm.

Tangled and Wreck-It Ralph would like to have a word with you. Along with Frozen, they're some of the best films Disney had made in a long time. They're on their way to a second renaissance backed by John Lasseter after he decided to oversee both Pixar and Disney animated movies.

Planes is the exception. We don't talk about Planes. Technically wasn't even made by Disney.

RE: The PokeBeach Oscars 2014

I'm here to endorse The Book Thief for being an amazing movie made from an even more amazing book. Please vote for it, kthx.

RE: The PokeBeach Oscars 2014

I am voting for The Book Thief in all categories. I only saw a few movies this year, and The Book Thief was hands-down the best. Had I seen Hobbit, I would probably vote for that as well. I love war movies or time-period pieces, so of course, I went to this movie. I was expecting more book thieving from the book burnings the Nazis had, but alas, that was not so. I, of course, did not read the book. But, overall, it was amazing. The acting was superb, the filmography was amazing, and the writing was great. I will be buying this movie when it comes out (I don't buy too many movies).

RE: The PokeBeach Oscars 2014

I would definitely reccomend the book if you saw the movie, it's just as good (if not better, in my opinion). The narration by Death goes a whole lot deeper, which makes it really interesting.

RE: The PokeBeach Oscars 2014

Eh, it received mixed reviews and has the potential to seem stale for me as it runs along the lines of The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas. I may or may not give it a go.

I'd like you all to listen to The Place Beyond the Pines Soundtrack. It's the best film of the year just for the scores alone.

Oh, and to nominate, you MUST PM me.

The hell is with all of you? No Best Picture nominations for Her or 12 Years a Slave? You choose The Hobbit and The Hunger Games instead? AND OBLIVION??? No Leonardo Dicaprio for Best Actor? Don't even get me started on the Supporting Actor category. Her not being nominated for Original Screenplay is the most disappointing thing I've ever seen. Best Score/Song being one category is awfully stupid and I even split them up in my nominations because I thought it was an error.

Ugh. Here are my picks anyway.
