Tuesday, 2/5, The Rise of Darkrai NOT Airing in Theatres

Not going into theaters to avoid bad reviews is a blessing? That seems like a bit of a stretch IMO.
 
The movie did extremely well in Japan, why coudn't they try it out elsewhere ? So what if Mewtwo Strikes Back had very bad reviews ?
 
Screw the movie critics. Mewtwo Returns (The Eng. name) sucks, doesn't mean all movies suck.
 
yeah, this sucks.....I was really hoping the movie would come out in theatres and show everyone that pokemon is cooler than its depected to be....I dont see how you can twist this to be a good thing.....well heres my sad face of the day :(

I Just found out something really cool about smash bros. brawl!!! One of the stages is spear pillar from pokemon diamond and pearl!!!! Dialga and Palkia appear there!!! No lie.
 
Darn. No Eigakan?? This stinks. Plus, unlike the other movies (Temple of the Sea kinda sucked in my opinion, as did 4ever (even though Suicune rocks)), I think this one is pretty awesome, and as for all the D/P fans out there, they'd love seeing Dialga and Palkia battle it out on the big screen, as well as this 'new', evil-looking Pokemon that they just downloaded.
 
Yeah man.I am an original fan, but left pokemon when g/s came out.I came back to pokemon for the advanced generation, but am afraid to admit that I am a pokemon fan.
 
Like you i am a pokemon fan but i never stoped liking pokemon.
and i started at the advanced generation
 
I told you guys it wouldn't!!! why would Nintendo release all the movie direct to DVD since the 6th movie ( jirachi wish maker) then make a change and put it in the theaters? this would not only hurt pokemon but also cost Nintendo MILLIONS OF DOLLARS in loses of poor box office results. face it all the yonger fans when i was 16 stabbed pikachu in the back and went for harry potter. Thats why ALL the movies will be released on DVDs. and the Pokemon movies have not been amazing since Pokemon 2000/Pokemon Heroes/Lucario and the mystery of Mew.

so dont be sad this is actually good. Cause its cheaper and You can enjoy pokemon unashamed in your own home and have fun (since Pokemon 4 came to DVD i have been making comments with my friends during the movies its quite fun (because face it sometimes the dubbing absolutely sucks!)

Wow... that's so spiteful.
I had read Ebert's review (more like ignorant criticism) when I was in the sixth grade and thought he was a spiteful, horrible man. Now that I am a senior in high school, I look back and think the exact same thing. It's because of idiots like him that most Pokémon fans went into hiding. I didn't care. I loved Pokémon and obviously still do.

But I may have completely bypassed the point and misinterpreted crucial Pokemon lore. This may disqualify me from ever becoming a Pokemon Trainer. I can live with that.

Are most critics this... moronic and ignorant? Oh well.

This is the truth. Pokemon is no where near as popular as it once was (U.S. ayway) and putting a new Pokemon movie in "major" theaters would be a daunting task (most notably financially). I'm content with the movie being released as it is.
 
Why does it need to be in theatres for everyone, anyway? I'm pleased with a Cartoon Network premiere before the DVD release. :]
 
The critic reffered to them as pokemons :p
Heck, I blame the popularity loss on D/P. People waited years for it, hoping for something revolutionary, but really, it was just another region. If every region is going to be similar like that then even I'd get bored at some point.

In Pokemon's defense, there were still three movies in theatres after Roger Ebert's negative review. There must be another reason for the movie not making it to theatres.
