TPCi is beginning to roll out a "Play! Pokemon Access" app for Android and iOS. It is only available in certain regions right now, such as parts of Europe, but it will see a full release when the next season starts.
The app allows you to search for local events, bookmark certain locations to receive notifications when they're hosting events, check in with a QR code, keep track of your record, search for card images using various parameters, and even catalogue your Pokemon TCG collection. You also earn in-app badges by competing in events.

> check-in with a QR code
Hope that works offline. I have spent insane amounts of time trying to load my player ID at certain regionals before I learned the lesson of saving it as a screenshot. If they enforce online check-in without enforcing functioning internet in venues, chaos will ensue.

I'm excited for this. This should open more people up to finding events that haven't been around for a while. Just have to make sure people know it exists, so hopefully marketing is good.

What is really love is a sandbox application for both Pokémon Online and Pocket. Let me make any deck I want with whichever cards I want and play test deck ideas against an AI. What made me quit playing was he inability to test a deck unless I owned all the requisite cards.

its just the site for mobile via app, the most wanted thing for this app is to send a decklist directly by the app, no more paper in hands, no more printers early in the morning, just make your deck in tcg live and export.

TCG Online lets you test against an AI if you don't have all the cards (the AI is really bad tho, but it exists), but also I feel like it shouldn't be too difficult to get the cards you want given the amount of freebies they hand you, but that might be my experience. Can't say anything about Pocket tho

I'm so glad that TPCi restricts those apps behind a region barrier. Us Neanderthals from Slovenia are certainly not playing in Countries around us that Play! Pokemon supports like Austria, Italy, Germany...

I hate that I love Pokemon so much sometimes.
