So many callbacks in this set. Fandango guy, Dynamotor guy, Victini, Prism Energy, Cheren, other stuff like the BW rarity and pack art, now these guys… Does this mean my goat Devour Durant will get a reprint??? Please, for me? 🥺

If nothing else, I’m very much expecting a highly-playable Genesect of some kind, maybe Garbodor too if they have the balls. And this set might have the prophesied Unfezant ex to pair with the TEF Pidove

i love the concept of "generational sets" but they must do it in some logic
I would really like the next generation after the 151, to be NEO of course.
But...I also understand it from a marketing perspective, Switch 2 just came out, there's a new generation around the corner, they have to keep the good stuff in case it doesn't work.(and as the last 2 generations looked in their first years, it's a wise decision)

Art wise, this set is definitely gonna be an all-timer. 156 AR/SARs still hasn't sunk it for me yet tbh. The reveal cycle this entire month is gonna be so much fun
Yeah it hasn’t for me either. First reaction upon seeing the ARs was: oh they all got AR those are a lot of “precious slots” for these guys. Still can’t believe the goats Swadloon Whirlipede Lampent Duosion all will get one. IK they’ve done middle stage ARs before but I always feel like it’s a bit bold for them to do so but that ain’t a worry here. Truly a set to be remembered forever to me

They even referenced the position that they are facing in the original full art and holos. Bruh why are they going so hard on gen 5 for no reason. They'll look great next to my 3 dollar full arts from emerging powers lol

I never was a fan of the evil genies(Jinn) but the Landorus art is epic!
They are actually not genies, even if even commentators in VGC tournaments call them like that -_- They are Japanese kami, Tornadus is the divinity Fûjin, while Thundurus is Raijin. It is weird that pokémon that Japanese were first introduced in Unova, but then in Legends Arceus we got to confirm that they are indeed avatars of nature representing each of the four stations, with Enamorus being the one for spring, and Cogita tells the player that even when they spend a lot of time in Hisui (currently Sinnô), which is based in Hokkaidô, Japan, they like to roam the entire world, and that explains their presense in Unova.

Gen 5 is still the best 2D experience for Pokemon besides remakes. R the story and region is much more flashed out and not having your favorites to choose from early on is still some sort of experience and even mode people still ask for today. I still wish every gen would concentrate on new mobs first and just open up later on.

It was overlooked at the time yes, but it wasn’t because of the games but the franchise as a whole, which wasn’t even strong during D/P era to begin with.

Kinda like they do this, kinda hope they will continue the trend. It’s just sad 151 feels have assed in comparison now and we will now get another gen 1 set down the line.
