Tinkaton from Mega Brave

Tinkatink, Tinkatuff, and Tinkaton, have been revealed from Mega Brave, which releases in Japan on August 1st. Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia will combine to form the majority of the international set Mega Evolution, which releases September 26th.

We haven't seen any dedicated counters to gardy (I don't think zard and grimmsnarl really count) and we have seen buffs to gardy in many sets. Safe to say, TPCI have never regretted printing gardy

It's not even a good counter for Gardevoir 1 if it managed to flip heads to discard the energy, they can just get it back and 2 Gardevoir ex isn't even weak to steel type, it's weak to dark type so this can't even ohko it and will be gone before it can take that knock out

I gotta say, full appreciation for each and every middle-stage that has a relevant ability that can do something from time to time. This is a REALLY good design decision, especially if it supports 1-prizer attackers that otherwise don't have enough merit (Tinkaton that draws, I'm looking at you). I'm in, this is a great design.
All of that while I don't think it will be anything too crazy. It's just neat to see fun design and bringing relevancy to such fun attackers. I'm in.

I 100% agree, it adds a very welcome amount of complexity to otherwise simple cards, and in cases like Drakloak and Kirlia, even gives them legitimate merits outside of their respective dedicated decks. Even simple bonuses such as Charmeleon's flare veil or evolving basics doing 30 damage for 1 energy make for healthy and more varied interactions between cards.

What? The stage one ability helps gardevoir more than anything, and the attack doesnt do anything against gardevoir other than ohko fez and clefairy

How I wish that were the case. But in this same set, they’re somehow giga-buffing Gardevoir with that psychic stadium. This deck is already very toxic and I’m sick of seeing it for 2 and a half years at this point, it really does not need to be buffed every other set when it’s already nigh-uncounterable. I was over Gardy last summer. Unless some crazy discovery is made, it looks like Gardevoir is about to become the uncontested BDIF again

This is kinda nifty in Pauper. At least in PTCGL’s limited Standard version. Could be a decent counter to Hop’s Corviknight/Cramorant.
